Home Remedy Recipe Dog Urine Smell and Stain Remover (works for cats too)
Ingredients
Baking Soda
White Vinegar
Dishwashing Detergent
Hydrogen Peroxide
Directions:
1. If the carpet is newly soiled, first absorb as much of the dog urine as possible using paper towels or an old towel. Place towels over the dog urine patch and tread on them so as to absorb as much wetness as possible. Repeat with dry towels until no more moisture can be absorbed.
If the dog urine has dried and you are not sure where the soiled area is you can use a black light (pictured above) to detect it. In a darkened room the black light will pick up urine and other stains. Hand held black lights can be purchased for between $15 to $25
2. Next, wet the area with a solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% water. Make sure it penetrates the fibres deep down. Allow it to dry. A fan can be used to assist drying. The acidity of the vinegar will neutralize the ammonia in the urine. It will NOT remove all the urine smell.
3.When it's dry, apply baking soda over the affected area and drizzle it with hydrogen peroxide mixed with a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent. Work it in with your a scrubbing brush or fingers to dissolve the baking soda and work it down into the carpet. Allow it to dry. Then vacuum.
Important. Never use ammonia or ammonia-based products on the carpet. The smell may attract the to that area and will encourage dogs to urinate in the area
You can also use an enzyme based laundry detergent and rinse with vinegar and water.

Have you heard of a SPOT BOT? It is like a mini rug shampooer. You place it on top of the spot and leave it and it cleans down deep. They are supposed to be terrific for getting urine stains, odors out of carpet. I personally have not used one but from everyone that I have talked to about the SPOT BOT, they give rave reviews. You can buy them at Wal-mart. They are pretty expensive, over $100, buit are supposed to really do the trick.

First you need a bottle of "Spray 9" (Available at your local hardware store or WalMart). You spray the carpet or floor and let it sit for about 5minutes, then you dab the spot with a damp cloth or sponge, DON'T RUB, it'll get worse. Once the spot is gone(and the smell) use Arm & Hammer Pet Deodorizer carpet spray, let is sit and presto...no more spot.

I'd say Nature's Miracle. It comes in a spray bottle or a larger container for bigger jobs. Get it at the large chain pet stores. I have two male dogs and two cats. It's been our miracle. Also a blacklight will help you pinpoint the area.

Urine Gone! It's about 15-20 dollars, it might at first SEEM expinsive, but it's worth it, and you don't have to use half of the bottle to clean just one spot, it's really awsome! * ^_^ *
