I have been using anusol for about a week and it does not seem to be helping much. Can anyone suggest anything better that can be bought without a prescription. I don't really want to go to the doctor unless I have to - I don't like the idea of getting my bottom examined ! Any advice would be much appreciated. I am in the UK.

I have the same problem. Just keep using the Anusol HC every time you use the bath and try long warm sit baths for at least 30 min. every night. After a week if you are not better you should visit your doctor. Don't be ashamed. that is what the doctor does all day and he/she will give you the best treatment. Hope you get better soon. It is very painful.

Anusol HC cream and HC suppositories. The HC (Hydrocortisone) will help with the inflammation and the suppository will help with the internal inflammation. If no relief by Monday go to the GP. He/she has seen more bums than you have had hot dinners so n need to be embarrassed.

Failing pile ointment your only option is to go to the doctors, he or she may be able to give you a stronger cream without having to examine you.

preparation H or go to your MD and have it checked out. My mom had it so she had a minor surgery. Maybe if you like spicy food, try cutting down, that promotes Hemorroids as well. Drink lots of water and try not to squat so much.
