Go to a flooring store and ask an expert.

If you don't feel like it then try vinegar and water or baking soda and water with some lemon in it.

Maybe also try some pet stain remover stuff for carpeting...spray it on and let it sit for a while before cleaning it up.

I also recommend that you finish the floors after this urine problem is resolved.

GOOD LUCK

Personally, no matter what you do, any pets you will have will smell the cat piss. Whether or not you don't, after clean up. It is the previuos owners responsibility to clean up after their occupants. I would have the floors replaced, as much of a hassle that may be ( have had it done myself) and MAKE SURE the previous tenants, owners have agreed to pay. If they refuse, get others opinions on smell, like who sold you the house (realtor etc) to help prove the house smells. But I am curious, why did you buy/rent this place if it smelled so bad?? Eek. Anyways, ide have the floor replaced -redone for your own sanitary benifits.

Type Cat Problems into your websearch, you'll find loads of sites telling you what to get to remove odours. All petshops will also sell these because these cleaners stop naughty cats peeing in the same place outside their litter trays. When you've done this use a really thinned down shellac or varnish as a woodseal just to make sure. Hope i've helped.

Try Simple Solution available at pet stores. The smell is because the enzyimes in the urine haven't been broken down. It may take a couple applications of the cleaner but it will work

I don't think you can the best thing to do is to take the floor up and put a new floor down. I know that this is expensive but it is the only way to completely get rid of the smell.

I have found that PineSol works really well with Cat Urine, it erases the smell and leaves a wonderful PineSol smell! If you don't like original PineSol it also comes in a Lemon scent that works just as well! Good Luck!

Nature's Miracle spray from a pet shop works fantastic. I have two dogs and two cats. Also, I've heard vinegar and water work but I've never tried it. You can buy a black light to find spots on carpet and furniture. Maybe work on hardwoods too.

Absolutely soak every place where theres wee with white vinegar; I know it pongs, but it will fade, and cats really hate the smell of it. It worked for me!! Really let it soak in, and it will overwhelm the catty smell in no time.

I had the same problem...I mixed up a batch of OxyClean, poured it around the baseboards, let it sit for a half hour, the blotted it up. No more odor.

Otherwise, you can have the former owners pay for professional cleanup.
