Because they are in it for the money. They are crooks, scammers, rip off artists. Pat Robertson of the 700 club does fly food to Africa on his planes, but then he flies diamonds from his diamond mines to diamond markets all over the world, he has a stable of race horses--what does a humble minister of God need with diamond mines and race horses????? Rev. Paul Crouch founder of TBN exposed in the LA Times as having given $140,000 in hush money to a TBN staffer to be quiet about their homosexual tryst in the TBN chalet high in the San Bernardino Mtns. Again, whats a humble minister of God doing with a mountaintop chalet oh and a homosexual tryst by the way and paying all that money from the FLOCK's love offerings...its a scam, a racket, they use hate to enflame their followers and steal their money.

I am a Liberal Christian and not one the ones who many align with "right
wing" Christianity...you might call them "Bible-thumpers"/despots/radicals."
However, here are the scriptural illustrations of why they are diluded
in following like sheep the republican party....why they are turning to
the very fascist-like faction they are choosing to turn their wills/lives
over to. I've been contending all this all along...Please don't judge
our whole religion because of these jerks....you can bet Christ himself
is looking down and likening them to the San Hedren.

Actually, I thought that was the only thing Pat Robertson had ever said that made sense.
I would rather see that than our men being in war for yrs and being killed. Not that I support every faucet of these "wars" we are in now.
I think many(not all) christians act that way because it makes them feel superior to others. I am not even sure they realize they do it. I consider myself a christian, however it is a big turnoff for me. When someone acts all high and mighty and judgmental about something I do or what music I listen too.
I figure satan is using them to upset me.
It usually works, but has I have grown and matured it is not working nearly as much.

The same thing that has been going wrong with religion since Adam and Eve. When mankind follows his own will and not God's Satan steps in and takes over. Satan has protrayed himself down through time as a ridious, ugly monster to sway of from the Biblical truth. Satan was created as the most beautiful of all angels and still is to this day. His game is to tell MOST of the truth with a little twist of a lie thrown in. Those who rely on human ministers to relay the message of the bible fall prey to Satan's schemes. Jesus clearly taught us in the New Testement that ministers which HE sends out will be poor and humble people. The ministers of today that have flashy clothes, cars, sell books and live in the spotlight of fame ARE NOT ministers of Jesus. Satan turned the word of God into a 3-ring circus and mankind fell for it just as they have always done. Jesus called these kinds of ministers in his day vipers and sons of Satan. Nothing has changed.

you need to stop and take a look at the individual christian, we do not all agree with the ones that become rich from telling people what they want to hear, on the other hand, we do not think that we should lit anybody run over us or push us around, after all Jesus did tell peter to carry a sword. if Jesus had defended him self he never would have died for our sins. and that was His real purpose on earth. but most Christians do focus on becoming more like Jesus.

I was apalled by what that preacher said on TV on the 700 club. Satan had a firm grip on him that day. We all sin and should be forgiven for our mistakes. We cannot expect God to forgive our sins if we don't forgive others for what they do against us.
He made a huge mistake with that statement. I'm sure he will be paying for it for a long time to come. We must forgive him and move on. He doesn't not represent all Christians. Christians do not support what he said in error that daya. He is an individudal who for what ever reason, backslid, and he did it before the world. If he appologized for it. we need to accept that and move on.

Christianity is not the problem, following Jesus is not the problem. It is when men do bad things that CLAIM to follow Jesus that the problems begin. The splintering of groups because men don't want to follow this rule or that rule creates more problems.
That's why I follow the one original, true Church. It is also made up of men and even though they are not perfect, the faith is.
There are many wonderfull faithfull Protestants though, I am not bashing them.
Peace!

It's not Christianity that is bad. Some....OK, most of the folks who at least give it lip service are not perfect. Shucks! And sometimes they mess up. Don't we all? When you put the name Christian with a group or organization you seem to expect saints or something. St. Paul called them saints, but then he went on to warn them of all kinds of sins they might, or were, committing. Seems Christians have always been just human.

All people are sinners. Anyone can claim to be a Christian. One non-believer can say a lot of hurtful, angry things and no one thinks that applies to all those who don't believe. Why is it that one person can stand up and say "I'm a Christian," and suddenly that person speaks for all believers?
The problem with all religions and beliefs is that they involve people, and all people are sinners. The perfect religion would have to be one with no followers to mess things up.

Yeah, well check out this information about the RICH lifestyles of the evangelists who are always begging for $$$. Now you know where the money is going.
How disgusting that Pat Robertson would:
a) call for the MURDER of another person (Whatever happened to "Thou Shalt Not Kill"), and then,
b) deny he said it (a.k.a. LYING .. DECEIT).
If not for intense media pressure (because the event happened on TV and was witnessed by millions of people), then the LYING PREACHER would have kept scamming people on this one, just like he scams about various other types of nonsense.
The hypocrisy is astounding!!
