The SEALs are the Navy's elite Special Forces. The term SEAL is an acronym for SEa, Air, Land.

They are similar to the Army's Special Forces, although the missions sometimes differ. They focus on different aspects of special operations. Their training is similar, in that it weeds out those not the most committed, keeping the best.

The Seals are a group of Navy personnel who are trained to ignore pain, get through enemy lines undetected, and handle a wide variety of weapons and high explosive both above and below the water. You must volunteer for it, and you can quit at any time. The training is extremely intense, and takes a mental and physical toll on you. Jesse, The Body, Ventura of the old WWF Wrestling fame was a Seal.

unless your taking about the animal in the ocean then it would be the special forces unit from the navy. THeir name is taken from the areas where they are trained to operate in - SEa, Air and Land. They are probably one of the toughest units in the world in my opinion.

SEAL stands for SEa, Air, Land. And yes, they are commandos.

You never want to run a PRT with these guys if you haven't exercised with them before hand.
