Is it possible to make a copy/counterfeit without there first being an original?
Of course the answer is 'NO'.
Okay, then how did we get the idea of God?

And please do not try to talk your way out of it.
You know there is no way around it.
If you wanted to make a counterfeit 'Mona Lisa', or one hundred dollar bill, then you'd HAVE TO have the original.
So now you have to try an explain where did the concept of God come from?
For you cannot have a flase...without a true.
I'd like to see anyone dare to get out of this one!
NOTE: Idiotic answers will be ignored.

"Well, I don't know, Einstein, How do millions of fiction/fantasy writers come up with their ideas to write any book? It's called imagination!"
Well okay Genius, then name one thing man can create...that doesn't already exist?
And do not say something idiotic like, a 3 inch high, purple elephant with wings...
because inches, the color purple and elephants all exist.
No matter what, you cannot create the thoughts in your mind.
Everything has an origin.
If not, then you just blew your own theory out of existance.
Now who's the Einstein?

You said...
"Human beings are creative by nature.. we do not need an original we can create what we'd like to see."
My reply...
God and a scientist are talking one day. The scientist says, "Hey God, we have come up with a way to create life out of nothing." God says, "Oh really. How?" The scientist starts gathering some dirt to show God his experiment when God says, "No, no, no... get your own dirt!"

So...you cannot have a false without a true...
Maybe GOD is false and the lack of his existance is the truth...
No one said that the idea of God was a copy. It doesnt have to be a copy to be incorrect. People come up with ORIGINAL, INCORRECT THEORIES all the time.
The idea of God could have easily been born because of the need of a way to control unruly
people.
But if you wanna run with the idea that only originals can be correct, then whose to say that the christian god isnt a copy off of the more primitive ones, such as Ra or someone? So hypothetically you would be saying that the Ancient Egyptians Gods would be correct and your christian God was indeed false...
Thats my take on things

False dilemma.
Relying on the assumption that the 1 answer is the only possibility.
Try again with a logical argument.
------------------------------
And if you are a true believer, why are you trying to bother with proofs? Are you trying to prove it to yourself?
Turn or burn true believer.
-------------------------------
Mel,
I said his argument is illogical, using a false dilemma that assumes that because there is an idea of god, there must have been an original.
But I'm not surprised that a christian has no idea about logics, they follow a 2000 year old book intended for illiterate, ignorant, unintelligent goat herders.
-------------------------------------
why are you not responding to me truebeliever_777?
Is it because you realise that your question is not valid? And that you're desperate to try and validate your faith, but can't?
And what about the question of Pagan gods? If they were first, would your christian god not just be a copy?
Jesus was. Ever heard of Mithras? Tammuz? Horus? These are all triune deities with death-resurrection stories?
Are these the real and jesus is the copy?
---------------------------------------
A ha ha ha ha truebeliever_777
I see you've been back to edit your question, but have not responded to anything I've asked.
You are pathetic. I have backed you into a corner and you have no way out.
Your pathetic attempt at a logical construct is laughable, and your desperation to prove your god is blasphemy.
Moron.

It is possible to make an original without copying something.
(your original question was incredibly biased and misleading ... how very dishonest of you)
"If you wanted to make a counterfeit 'Mona Lisa', or one hundred dollar bill, then you'd HAVE TO have the original."
Hey dumbass, where did the ORIGNAL $100 bill or the Mosa Lisa come from, if everything in existance has to be copied?
Your own logic just destroyed itself.
Come back with a question that makes sense.
-------------------------------
Even the theists on here are trying to tell you that your logic doesn't add up.
I think that should tell you something, son.
Come back with a position that doesn't logically destroy itself.
Your position that for anything to exist, it must be the product of what came before actually negates the concept of the christian god, because your logical position necessitates that this god must therefore have been a product of what came before him.
Unless, of course, you engage in "special pleading" which is a dishonest tactic in debates which means that you set up a rule or proposition for others to follow, but then refuse to follow it yourself.
n other words, if nothing that exists can be original and you assume that god exists, then he can't be original.
Special pleading would be for you to say that your "rule" doesn't apply to god. Which would not only be dishonest, but you would be saying that your "rule" was never true to begin with.
Am I dumbing down the logic lesson enough for you to understand it?
OR will you need pictures?

In that case, there have always been TVs, etc. There is no original sin, because man needed to have sinned to copy the sin. You see, you just put some holes in religion. The fact is, some people have IMAGINATION. You may not understand it, but it lets us make stuff up. Star wars must be true, because there was a movie made about it, and as you say, you can't just make things up, so it must be true. This has to be the worst excuse for logic that I have come across.

You'll have to define your question. You're implying there's no such thing as an original...that all things are copied?
What exactly are you saying is being copied?
EDIT: It sounds like you're saying that the concept of God would have HAD to come from the real thing. That's not true at all! You're saying there's no such thing as an original.
If what you're implying is true, that the idea of God HAS to come from reality because all copied ideas are...then that means the same goes for Zeus, Ra, Odin, witches, Hale-Bopp comet, or any other idea.
EDIT MORE: OK NOW I get your question...you're saying that how can anything exist without the materials being available...and those materials are of God therefore everything is...right? There's just one problem...you're making the assumption that the materials are of God. You have no way of knowing this.

Well to let you know Christianty is derivied from paganism. Everything christian comes from pagens. Christmas was the pagen day for winter solsitce it was the ending of winter and they would celebrate with gifts to nature and vast meals. They also practice and followed the sun on what christian faiths do as well its called "sun"day for a reason. The angels have halos which was stolen from the pagans sun disk even the pictures of god were stolen from Zeus. Every christian story has an underlining tone of paganism. I'm just scratching the surface.

FYI there are religions that predate yours that have been doing what they do for centuries, do you know what the christian missionaries are doing in India now? Ive talked to people that live in India christians are destroying Hindu temples because they dont agree with Hinduism. Which religion is older? Hinduism predates christianity and christianity in thinking its the older wiser and better religion had better go back to potty training and let the older religions show them how its done.

So basically every fictional writer had an original to base their stories on? Asimov, Heinlein, Douglas Adams, Frank Herbert, Edgar Allen Poe, PL Travers, Roald Dahl .. needed someone to hand them a blueprint in order for them to create the characters, situations and complexities in their books?
Human beings are creative by nature.. we do not need an original we can create what we'd like to see.
From Lewis Carroll - Through the Looking Glass
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy."
Ok, where is the originial for this?
