I dont no if it'll work but,............... My sisters tumble dryer stopped blowing hot air and she called out the repairman, (hers is also a hotpoint)... apparently...There is a little button (most of the time found on the back of the machine) which will reset the heat element..I'm not saying it's the case for you but have a very very close inspection all round the dryer, if you do have a reset button it'll save you a fortune, good luck!

Hotpoint Tumble Dryer Problems

Things that could stop a electric dryer from heating:
- house fuse or breaker ( needs two of them ), heating element, burnt wire, thermostat(s), thermal fuse ( not all models ), motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, burnt power cord/plug.

A ohm meter test for these parts is here : http://www.applianceaid.com/test_with_ohmmeter.html

It can be a loss of 220 volts, which will allow the dryer to tumble, but not heat.

The heating element is inside a cannister, it must be removed and checked for a physical break. There are up to four thermostats on the interior, with one being a thermal fuse, one of them may have failed, they can be checked by jumping them out or by checking them for continuity with and electrical meter. Two thermostats should be on the cannister and one should be down in the blower housing, accessed from the back of the dryer.

Here is the Hotpoint dryer web site, to call a professioal:

It is either your heater(most likely) or your relay/switch. If you don't have the neccessary tools (like a meter, ect), and knowledge to work on it with I would go to the company's website and ask them for a layout of the dryer for a layman to understand.
On some units it's a pain in the butt ot remove the heater but this one you should be able to find the heater at the rear after taking off the back cover. It'll the thing with open coils of wire inside it. YOU have to check the wire terminals on the heater with you electrical meter to know if voltage is correct(220), and is there. If you hav ethe required 220, or 230 ect. and no heat than you need a heater.

this is fun but first this i think is an electic 220v, so 110v for the motor 110v for the heater check your voltages coming in and check to make sure it is making it into the dryer, itis heated by a heating coil in the back of the drum of the dryer. If your a handy man its not to bad but it can be dangerous so use care or call a service pro. if i am wrong and its gas check that the gas valve is open if it is the ignitor and the gas jet is in the buttom open the front it should just pull off and see if you see the pilot light or the if the ignitor is sparking again this can be dangerous so use care. if it doesnt ignite it could be a gas problem or an ignitor if it tries it could be a failed jet just use care. its easy to get hurt.

Pull the plug, get a screwdriver, open up the back and take a look. Possibly the heating element is burnt out. Give it a continuity test. What happens is if you don't clean the filter, often, the element gets too hot and burns out. Possibly you just need to clean the filter and reset the circuit breaker. Those parts are very common at an appliance parts store.

don,t know about the brand, but ya could be the heating element is gone, I moved into a trailer one year, & the dryer took for ever to dry, I could,nt find the lint collecter, I seriously thought it did,nt have one, till a friend came up & found it, it was way at the back on the dryer,I
could have made a blanket out of the fuzz that was in the lint trap, serios.

It's the element that's burned out.
It's in the back....UNPLUG dryer and take the back off, take the element with you so you can be sure to get the proper replacement.
You can save yourself time by phoning different places and asking if they have the specific one your looking for. They will ask what the model and serial number is so have it with you by the phone.

Good Luck!

your exhaust duct is clogged. you need to clear it out right away. there is a slight chance it could catch fire. I bet your clothes take forever to dry too. you need someone to take the back panel off and clean all the additional lint buildup inside. i hope this helps
