4 hours, 30 minutes on an intercity, up to 5 hours, depending on which time of day

It takes about 3-4hours i think. They are the two best places i have been to. Milan is so cultural and really great people. Rome is very special and the historic buildings, St Pauls, San Pietro are great. I went just before Pope Jean Paul died, and it was great to see him before he died. Milan edges it though as I love AC Milan and when i walked in Rome with my Maldini shirt i was hit with abuse of "Totti" for ages. Lovely food also.

I'd reckon on 5 hours to be on the safe side. I'd recommend an internal flight.
