A thought on genesis?

Question

My wife and i created our son in our image, does this mean that we too are gods,
If we are,
then we too can create a religion for people to follow!
Anyone interested?

Whose image are you created in? If before the chicken (or human in this case) and the egg, there was God as the source, then you are not the source, and therefore not God. However, if God the Father, God the Holy Spirit (translated Sophia = feminine / Mother), and God the Son, is like a family, and you are created in their image (Tri-unity = Mind, Spirit and Body) then you are god-like. Considering ALL religions are created by mankind, and whatever beliefs you have are likely to be passed on to your children, then you will create your own religion whether you intend to or not. However, that is different from having your Faith in a source. A small child will have faith in their parents, but will soon learn that their faith is misplaced. The child will then grow to spend the rest of its life wondering what to put its faith in, be it money, love, pleasure, the physical world that can be measured, or maybe God....

I believe that the image spoken of is not the physical image but the spiritual image. How can we be made in God's image? God is formless and genderless, an energy source which can take any form God chooses. No, we were formed first as spirits, as souls and that is the image of God's we were created in. Unfortunately, we try to make God fit into our image or our mold. It is then that we belittle God, trying to ascribe human qualities to God. Not possible!

I would say that you can create such a religion, perhaps call it Rynism. However, if you were to get into a wrestling match with an angel of Yahweh or the Elohim and lose, I would be more likely to put other gods before you. :-)

I think I know where you're heading, but remember that you were created in God's image, and your children were created in God's image, and no, you are not 2 Gods, because your son was not created in your image because you did not choose how he looked, how his life will be, and how he will act. That is all God's doing.
