It is a sin to cause animals to suffer or die needlessly.

It is not a sin to kill animals with as little suffering as possible for food and clothing.

With love in Christ.

Hell no, it is simple survival the only thing that is a sin is killing animals and fish for fun and then just leaving it there or harming the fish after you catch it an then throwing it back but when I am fishing catch and release is a great way to enjoy the sport...

i'm a vegetarian (i know you're rolling your eyes lol), but i think that there was a time (and in many places today) when people need to kill animals for food. that's obvious, and isn't wrong on any level. i also believe that we live in a time and place that provides us with choices. and one option is to abstain from animals and animal products.
fish are animals, and so are we. i feel that a life is a life, regardless of how "advanced" that life is. if something is drawing breath, or can feel pain, i feel that i do not have the right to take that away from it. that animal was not made for me, and i have a choice not to eat it.
i think that killing animals for sport is a mistake because it trivializes life and death, and i see that as abuse. everything has its own reason for existing, and i don't feel that that purpose is to become my food.

Whether it is a "sin" or not shouldn't really be the issue. The question is does the thought of brutally murdering an animal for a source of food that you can live without make YOU feel bad. If it does then STOP. If it doesn't stand in line with all of the other cruel in-compassionate people at your local Burger King.

No.
Saint Peter was a fisherman, so was St. Andrew and several other apostles. Jesus was known to go fishing with them. Jesus was also known to serve fish and loaves for others to eat. The Bible mentions Jesus at three Passover meals. Do you know what they served? Lamb.

So, if you think that not killing animals will make you better that Jesus and the apostles, then go for it. However, even people who were considered nice, kind, spiritual people like Saint Francis ate meat too. (He even had to kill the animal to feed himself!) Don't forget Mother Teresa, another sinful meat eater. However, you're better that all these aren't you?

Why would it be a sin? I think it would be a waste of some good food! Remember, God created man in his own image. Not animals. We need food, and thats what animals are here for So no, its not a sin. However, it is a sin to just overkill for the heck of it. Thats carelessness.

Its not a sin to kill animals for food, but for sport, I think it is, the bible doesn't address it.

I believe it is a sin to kill for sport, or just for the fun of it. You should never take pleasure in killing. I believe killing animals for food is not wrong if you do not take pleasure in it and if you are appreciative of the animal for giving their life for yours.

I think it's a sin to kill more than what you need. If you have food at home and money in your pocket, chances are you don't need to kill.
