STOP BITING YOUR DOG!
You are not another dog, therefore, biting her is cruel and obviously either hurts or scares her!
Dogs investigate the world and play with others with their mouths. This is normal behavior, although unacceptable between dogs and humans. You don't say how old Shadow is, but the "bite Game: is not a game, and shame on you for not trying to find a more fair and kind way to stop her from biting you or anyone else. The following is for any age dog who still bites, but if she's under 7-8 months old, she's still teething and the chewing soothes her mouth, while the biting is puppy play.
1. Until she has learned not to put her mouth on human skin, keep your face and ears away from her face. Easy, no?
2. Have LOTS of acceptable chew bones, squeaky toys, small-sized tennis balls available all over the house and keep one in your pocket. If she attempts to bite or chew on something inappropriate (you, furniture, etc.) put one of these objects right up to her mouth, between her and the object, and in a happy voice say "Take it" or Here!". When she takes it, praise her in a high, happy voice.
3. If she's going to be in her crate or safe (baby-gated) area for an hour or more, stuff a small KONG toy or sterilized real bone with a little cheese or peanut butter for her to gnaw on.
4. Be consistent. Dogs only understand always and never. They do not ever understand 'maybe', 'only this time', later, etc.
She is never allowed to put her mouth on humans, and it will take her a while to understand, but keep substituting appropriate chewies and sooner or later she'll get it. Punishing her is not teaching her anything. Giving her an alternate behavior that earns her praise and reward (the chewie) IS teaching her.
5. When you play with her, throw balls or squeaky toys for her to chase. Do not feed into the 'mouthy" thing by playing tuggy games with her.
6. To teach her to give you whatever she has in her mouth, wait until she's got a ball or toy or bone in her mouth. Then get a small piece of cheese or treat, hold it right in front of her nose so she can smell it and say "Give" in a normal tone of voice. When she lets go of or drops the object in her mouth, pop the treat right in there while saying "NICE!" or "GOOD!" in a high happy voice, then give her back her toy or bone.
She's getting something wonderful when she gives you her toy, AND she then gets the toy back! What a deal, eh? Do this at least twice a day at different times. Soon, she'll automatically drop whatever's in her mouth for you.
Always give her back something of hers. If you have to make her give you something that isn't hers (your shoe, underwear, etc) make sure you have a treat and one of her toys, so she gets praise, a treat and an appropriate chewie.
That should do it. Now, behave!

Biting your dog doesn't teach her anything except not to trust you. You should stop this immediately.
Does your dog bite you when you haven't started the Bite Game?
When that happens, you should say NO! and put her on the floor.
Here's a link the The Dog Whisperer, Ceasar Milan's awesome show for problem dogs on the National Geographic Channel. Try watching...you'll learn a lot about how to treat your dog if you want her to respect you as pack leader.

Good luck!

When you play the "bite game" you are teaching her HOW to bite. If the dog is yelping when you bite her it means it hurts, and she is hoping to hurt you back by biting your ear.
I mean come on.

If she bites an electric cord, she wouldn't bite it again. Likewise if when she bites you, she gets a negative reaction, (strong no etc) she would stop. Biting her is not helping now is it?
