Are you talking combat or sex. Peace is lack of war, piece is a sexual reference. I've never had a bad peace or a bad piece.

Sir, - Apropos the write-up `Never a good war, or a bad peace' (Oct. 28), I, for one, do not understand what the anti-war activists want the U.S. to do. Even before the September 11 terrorist attack, no country (except Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE) was ready to recognise the Taliban Government. So, post- September 11, there is no question of the U.S. signing a treaty with the Taliban for the extradition of Osama bin Laden. It is doubtful whether Mullah Omar would have consented to sign such a treaty.

"Never has there been a good war or bad peace."

Ben Franklin.

Knowing of Ben's love for the ladies, we can't be absolutely sure it he meant "piece" or "peace".

His most relevant words of wisdom today were:

"They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security"

Don't know for sure , Franklin? But I do believe that that's a simplistic and inaccurate statement
