my dog usually throws up after eating grass or something outside. they don't usually throw up after having any table food. they have only went to the bathroom when they accidentally got a hoagie (all over the house for like two hours!) my dogs eat their own poop, it is crazy nasty & makes their breath smell like their butt but it doesn't make them barf. just don't feed him greasy things like lunch meats and chocolate!

I'd recommend taking him to a vet to rule out anything serious, he may have food allergies or intolerances.

Dogs eat grass to help them barf and also because it contains chlorophylls and nutrophylls which are good for purifying the blood and reducing toxins. Now having said that, there are some grasses and plants that are toxic to dogs so it's best to grow some oat or wheat in a pot for him to chew on. It's not safe to feed scraps or allow him to eat them as some foods, whilst safe for humans can make a dog ill. Eating his poop isn't a good idea either but it is near impossible to break that habit.

All can.
However, usually any of these, other than eating table food, and even that depends on what kind of table food we're talking about, can be signs of other problems.
Sometimes just eating to fast will cause a pet to throw up.
A lot of pets eat grass to regurgitate,( throw-up) a sour stomach.
Scaps on the floor is simply food. And, of course a hungry pet will eat food off the floor, or if for no other reason, as a treat.
Eating excrement (poop) can be a sign of a food or vitamin deficiency. I know of animals raised only on dry foods,(read the labels. They're nothing but the cheapest ground, corn and wheat meals, dissolved powered minerals, so they can advertise it as "fortified" and preservatives. Eyck,Eyck and more Eyck.)
I've never heard of it's(eating poop) causing a serious problem unless of course, it's become part of your pets a steady diet.
You have a little dog and they're usually not to expensive to feed well. I feed my animals a great deal of what we prepare for ourselves and with some minor changes, for my pets and have had very few health problems with them and I'm doing this for thirty years.
Hope I've helped, Good luck with your Maltese.

Table scraps, and table food definitely can cause a dog to poop. Grass can cause barfing. You may have a dog with a delicate digestive system, in which case you should find a balanced diet that his digestive system can tolerate and stick to that. I had a dog once that had to cook special food for because he couldn't tolerate any regular commercial dog food.

Eating their own **** is totally disgusting, but I guess it's a dog's way of recycling...yukk. I don't know what it causes, but all my dogs have done it at least once.
Good luck with your Maltese...they are so cute!

I never give a house dog table scraps! Eating grass sometimes will make a dog vomit, but not always. Eating grass is normal and does not mean the dog is ill...it is a fiber thing. To stop him from eating his poo, pooper scoop every day.

People food is not good for dogs that is why it is called "people" food! Although if you want to give your dog a treat....air pop popcorn (no butter)...fruits or veggies. Dogs are not meant to eat fruits and veggies as a diet...treats only!

Good luck!

Dogs should not be fed people food, because it can make them have the runs, or get sick. Eating grass is like eating a salad to us, the milk in it can make them throw up, but I had a dog that grazed like a cow and never puked. Eating his poo is nasty, but you can put Adolf's meat tenderizer on his food, and it should stop him from eating it. I don't know what you give him to chew on, but raw hides, pigs ears, pigs snouts, can make them sick and they can get a piece big enough to cause a blockage. Also most of your raw hides that are not made in the USA are made with anthrax cattle. Give him nylabones to chew on Good luck

Then make an appointment with the groomer. Or take him for a long walk and then bathe him--if he's gotten extra exercise then he'll be too tired to fight it.

The table scraps can cause the dog to poop. Eating grass is a way for my dog to settle his upset stomach. he eats it and then pukes and he feels better. eating his poop can definatly make him sick.
