I've always admired Shakespeare's Macbeth not because of what he had done but because of how guilty his was. Guilt means you care, it means you keep your conscious in practice.

Yeah, I got one pretty decent answer. The best answers were my favorite though.

Guilt feels crappy, but I think it's pretty hard to run away from an internal feeling.

Ha! Good one. Then you won't get many answers because we're all "guilty" of something! According to someone else anyway, if not to ourselves.

Guilt is a waste of time. If you hurt someone and are sorry and take some action to correct it and make them feel better you will have done something constructive, but guilt is not constructive and is just something to dwell on, which takes you away from dwelling on life.

People run away from guilt because the are afraid of facing themselves. Guilt is like a mirror being held up to your face, and most people are afraid to look in.

One can never run aways from ones own self, you can be in denial, but your personal guilt's are always there .It is a wise person that can take theses guilt's and acknowledge them ,face them ,and deal with them and atone for them.We all harbor some guilt about something.

Quilt is a sign someone has done something they know is wrong. Lots of people ignore it or deny it because they do not want to change.
Why people refuse to believe!

Read Romans 1:21 in The Holy bible: "Because, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful, but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish hearts were darkened." Peoples hearts are darkened and blinded by Satan. II Corinthians 4:3-4. "But if our gospel be hidden it is hidden to them that are lost, In whom the god (Satan) of this world (age) hath blinded the minds of them who believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. "John 3:19 "And this is the condemnation, that light (Jesus Christ) is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." Parentheses mine. So you see it is a combination of the sinful hearts of men and Satan blinding them against Jesus Christ.

I saw a bumper sticker yesterday that said, "Screw Guilt".

I like that.

I feel guilty when I can't make Christians see the error of their ways.

There is no cure for guilt. Guilt shows that you are good. But there is no other solution than running away from guilt.

Do you embrace feeling guilty? what pleasure does it give you? do you feel more holy in your guilt? are you more righteous in your guilt? can you help another easier when you have this cherished guilt? You keep your guilt. And you do it for your own selfish reasons too.
