*Always buy in bulk when things are cheap (teddy bears, spa baskets, etc.- this saved me from having to waste all of my money on presents for my friends)
*Always keep in touch when you say you will (you will lose a lot of friends if you don't)
*Study whenever you can before a big exam (if you have to, go to the library during lunch, it won't kill you to skip one lunch with the girls)
*Form study groups (people have great opinions that they can share and you can borrow and expand on them during your final exam or an AP exam- as long as you share too)
*If you have to procrastinate, don't wait till 12:00 in the morning to do it (if you are going to be lazy, be lazy at five or six at night, don't wait till night time because I guarantee the project won't look half as pretty in good lighting)
*Don't bring the bad to the classroom (be happy, be quiet, and be on time to class- you can get mad when you're off school property)
*Make sure your shirt is long enough (seriously, make sure to check because most of the time when someone tells you they can see your undergarments, you'll be embarrased)
*Never try to break in your new pair of heels at a school with stairs (self explanatory I'd hope)
*Join every club you can, get involved (the coolest and most incredible part of high school is being able to look back at the super sweet friends you made, and you'll make more if you just sign up for something)

That's about it besides making sure that you keep your friends, your memories, and most importantly, your receipts!!

Set you priorities right. School life is exciting and wonderful and there are so many things to do and participate. So you should select and allot time and energy depending on which is more important.

1)The top priority should be to do well in academics and start on the first day itself. Don't wait till exams are near. Complete assignments on time.
2) Time is precious. So don't waste it on non productive activities. Time management is the key. Read a good book on time management before you enter school.
3) Make friends for a lifetime. Enjoy yourself within limits.
4) Know what you should do and what not to do. Don't bow to friends pressure to do so called adult things like smoking, drugs, alcohol etc.
5) Be dignified and natural. Don't imitate others.
6) Your parents may not be there to control you. So have self-control.
7) Study groups with people of similar abilities helps in covering more in less time. So you need to carefully select your group.
8) Don't waste time on dating until you are about to leave school. It diverts your attention. Be friendly and nice.
9) be open minded and learn from all those whom you come across. Every individual has good qualities.
10) School could be the best part of your life. So learn and enjoy and grow into a mature individual. Many people are made or broken in school life. Do NOT get into the wrong lane in life.

managing your time is key to doing well, and you can do well in what you give time to. As every year goes by you'll take over more and more responsibilties of your own, so try to enjoy learning each new thing.
I find I like to spend a couple of hours a week looking at style, in magazines on the web or in catalogues to keep my sense of style on time. I spend another hour a day on fitness. Factor in time doing homework, keeping up with friends... thats alot to manage.
I think making and keeping good friends should be highly important for you right now - they'll help you with the other stuff... and when you get older you'll still have some of the same friends and its great because they know what you've been thru.
have fun!

Don't get wrapped up in the drama of high school....have fun, because once you graduate, there are no more "popular crowds" or "nerds" in the real world....it becomes people who are successful and people who are not...

Be open minded and nice to everyone. You never know what will happen in the future and who you will run into.

Establish values and live by them. Don't be persuaded by other people to do things you dont want to. Generally people like that don't get anywhere in life....

Enjoy the time you have and don't wish it away... Life only gets harder as you grow up, so learn to deal with your problems face on now so in the future you'll be able to handle anything that comes your way......

Don't overlook the little things....

But you should wear what ever you feel comfortable wearing. There is this girl in my school and sometimes i think she wears the most bizare arrangement of her clothes but they are pretty cool at the same time and she is just her own unique person and that is pretty cool i think.
