Recently I found out that Bush supposedly is a Christian. Living outside the U.S I never saw him as a Christian political leader, and any person who gets fooled by that is an ignorant. No President is going to be the perfect image of a Christian, that's false. That's a good way to win votes, by proclaiming to be a Christian and protect Christian values.

How can you see him as a representation of Christianity? Bush's interests is to get into the problems with other countries to raise the economy of the U.S. To maintain his empire #1. Anywhere there is trouble the American Government appears out of nowhere to agravate the situation. Christianity doesn't represent that, not in all the parts of the World.

Politics and Christianity don't go hand in hand. Politics is full of corrupts and lies.

Who ever said Bush was the poster child for Christianity? I wouldn't go so far as to say he isn't a Christian; thats between him and God. However, I do agree...there are some things he does that make me shake my head. Just please do not base your views of Christians on the mistakes of Bush. But at the same time, remember he is human, and instead of bashing him, perhaps, if you believe in prayer, pray for him.

1. Define Real Christian
2. Ask another Christian of a sect different from yours to define a Real Christian
3. I don't see him as a Christian Political Leader because I don't pay attention to faith. I vote for and approve of Rational Laws. The U.S. is founded on Secular Humanism. I apply those principles to all my political thought (despite my personal faith). I choose the best Rational candidate (which is why I didn't vote for Bush). I don't understand how or why he could use his faith to gain power. I find it low and impolite. But, there is a rise in Fundamentalism right now.... and he is using his First Amendment right.
4. right now, the U.S. is trying to stay hands-off of Israel and all we can hear is "why won't the US tell them to back off???". Why? Because we're tired of being yelled at for helping. Then we get yelled at for not helping. Christianity represents (for most) service, love, and help. Americans want to help. They want to spread love. They want to promote service. But if we don't do it the way the rest of the world wants us to, we are maligned. How Christian are those countries that would drag us through the mud quicker than helping us as much as we help them?

Bush is a christian. He also has a responsibility as a leader to take care of his country, and protect the financial interests of his nation, as any leader would. A nation that suffers financially is a weak one, and unable to do good in the world if it is suffereing in this way.

Right now, the USA is doing more to help others -politically and financially - than any other nation because we are blessed by God. We would like for it to stay this way. WE have done more for peace than any other nation, and have made the most sacrifices - both in lives and in finances. We need more christians in leadership, not less.

It is the lack of moral values that creates strife and war in the world, and by doing our responsibility as involved citizens, we can keep the growing evil under control. In nations where christianity is suppressed, there are dictatorships ruling, to the harm of the people.

Judeo-Christian values defined the basic freedoms of our country. If all nations were based like this, there would be more freedom around the world, and less bloodshed, abuse and poverty. We are the only nation that has turned former slaves into citizens, doctors, lawyers, and supreme court judges etc.

Bush acts to protect these moral values in our country. He has to deal with others who have no regard for values, and so the outcome is not always perfect. Every country has a negative element that needs to be contended with.

Our efforts around the world are self-sacrificing.. We have spent billions of dollars in Iraq, so those people could be free of a dictatorship and live in a democracy, which we hope will eventually work. We have also done alot to rebuild their economy and infrastructure, and have gotten nothing financially in return for it..The unrest that is there now has nothing to do with us but msulims fighting among themselves.

The USA is also the largest provider of charity in the world, and much of this comes from the christian sector. Individual christians believe in giving to others as individuals, and not taxing people for charity. But as we are part of a bigger system that taxes, we give twice- once to the government, and again as individuals. Bush gives to the poor from his own income, just like other individual christians do. You will not find his critics doing that. His political opponent, Kerry, in the last election, with all his millions of dollars in riches, has a record of giving nothing to the poor at all.

"Trouble" as defined by the world many times comes from America's enemies, who do not represent our values.

We Muslims thought at first that the problem is limited to Bush and his administration, but after we saw the unlimited support and even pushing the Israelis to inflict more destruction and to commit more war crimes in Lebanon against all human rights and international treaties and after we observed the unlimited support of most Americans (most of them are devoted Christians) to this unjust war (through on line polls and YA, etc...) we think that Bush is a good example for typical Christians today.

I would never presume to know what President Bush's relationship is with his Savior, that is between him and God, I don't use President Bush as my representaive for Christianity. My representative is Jesus Christ, and His chosen disciples that taught after His death all I need to know about how to live a Christian life. I rely on no other human to teach me anything, after all they are just humans and prone to err.

Whether or not he is a real christian is not for me to prove; he just needs to be out of office asap, as I feel his is unfit for presidency.

That being said, I know a lot of christians who voted for him just because he claims to be a christian. I find that very sad.
