I really need ideas for things I can make and then sell at fairs. Anything like recipes, toys, lotions just anything crafty and I can make. Oh and something that will be sure to sell!

The problem with that is that what is hot can change overnight. What do you do best? Do you cross stich? Do you sew? find what you are good at making and make things. I have done shows where I made Halloween costumes and sold them One year I made weird hats. find what you want to make and make them. Be prepared to sit all day and possibly not sell anything. That is just how it is.

You need to make a list of things your good at making...then you need to apply that to the time of year - you wouldn't make kites during the winter. Once you've figured out what to make determine how much each item is going to cost? $5 $10 $25? What is the market going to pay for your item? I like the idea of cookies - especially at the holidays? You bake a batch of cookies for people too busy to do it themselves? Plus you throw in the recipe so they can make it in the future - but then you've just given away your secret. I might visit a gift store and see what's really hot right now - and try and duplicate (NOT COPY) it at home with interesting materials and other things. Jewelry is also a big seller (IMO) and small gifts that are priced under $20 will fly - especially if they are unique.

The market on home-crafted items has really evolved over the last few years.
I would visit ALL the craft fairs, craft stores (with vendor booths) and even flea markets in your area. I remember when painted clothes, yard decor and handmade soaps were all the rage, things have cooled for those markets.
With the retail prices going up, you should consider making something that you can buy the supplies in bulk or even wholesale if possible. Or making things from household items like soda cans, jugs, etc...
I enjoy Country Sampler or Country Marketplace magazines to get ideas. But you will also see that there are multiple vendors producing basically the same thing.

Try making dream catchers, or wands for the smaller children. maybe arrange some crystals, and most definitely have some beads.

how about making greeting cards. They are along the line of scrapbooking. Homemade greeting cards using scrapbooking paper,stickers and embellishments are really hot right now.
