I know that it's called putting them on a guilt trip, but what is the more gramatical term for it? I would really appreciate someone input...

Emotional Blackmail is one reference for it. Another one (the link is just below), is 'guilting' or 'guilted'.

Another way to look at guilt is that it's an emotion and any attempt to coerce someone into feeling something they wouldn't without your deliberate actions / behaviours / speech, is a form of control from you towards them.

That is a form of bragging. See I am better than that person.
It is cruel and mean. It is usually done by someone with very low self esteem. They need to hurt others to feel better about them selves.

When John denied his wife the dress she desired, she shamed him by reminding him that he stole $50 from her last week to go drinking with his buddies.
