Many of them do. I've heard questions poted on Y!A like:

1. Why would you want to believe that we were descended from an ape?
2. I would hate to think that nothing exists after we die.
3. I can't bear to imagine a world without God.
4. Don't you want to be reunited with your loved ones after you die?

The list is endless. And I can't fathom it. I'd like to apply the same logic to my normal life - I'd like to 'hope' that my credit card has no upper limit and someone else will always pay for it.

But hoping doesn't make it so. And it's an irresponsible way to live, wish-fulfillment.

No, not at all! As a matter of fact, Christians are very aware that the Bible is a real book of books inspired by the words of God. While we have all learned something a little different than the other person, we have to respect their beliefs in order to live in a free country.
Just saying that we want no religion, no taxes, no aliens, no illness or disease will not remove it from society. These things are bigger than we are. So, they aren't going away.
It has been my experience to work on living a life around the things that I find different from my liking. Since this focus on my own peace, I have eliminated one medication from the list and have been sleeping 7-8 hours every night.
Whew, what a relief that I don't try to change the world anymore with my agenda. I just work on changing my own...so far, so good!

BIBLE: KJV according to sourses:
What does God call them? Preach love to them? Lets see what God says, to do with them.

You have unbeliever's, Chaff, Scoffers.

An Atheist is a "scoffer". The WORD of God, clearly tells, ATHEISTS are filhty rags they are, and to stay away from them, and avoid them. We are NOT to plant seeds. God knows it is useless and that is why he tells us, "You stand firm against them" ( Jer.17:8 14:1 Iah 44:4) You disassociate them completely. Any Believer that does not abide in God's own Word, does not know God, according to God Himself.
Atheists are "chaff" A simile of the wretchedness of the wicked. Chaff is carried away by the lightest wind, and it's removal brings about cleansing by extracting what is utterly useless. (Ruth 1:22). They will NOT stand in the judgment. They will NOT be able to withstand God's wrath when He judges.( Pslams 76:7 Exra 9:15). This is not my opinion, this is God's very own Words, in the Bible. You know, the BIble? The same Bible atheist scholars quote. There is a reason God, said this. Psalms.1.1-3 Jer. 17:8 14:1 12. 1-2 18:9-10 Prov1.10-19 (vs 5) scoffers:(atheists) those who ridicule God and definatley reject His Law. Prov 1.:22 Ruth 1:22 Jer 18:7 (pull down-destroy) 1:10 (evil-calamity) 18:11

Pslams 1:
godly wisdom here, declare the final outcome of the two "ways". The paths of "sinners" (unbelievers) and the "way of the righteous. he speaks progressively of assoociation with the ungodly and participation in they're ungodly ways.

God said it. End of Story. Jesus Himself said "Let the dead bury they're dead".

Use all the Internet and Dictionaries they want to and call themselves anything they wish. God "defined" what they are by His own Holy Word.

They can hang a dog tag* around they're neck in the pits if hell itself and separate each other by name categorically.

God's Word said it. By God's definition. They are nothing but filthy rags. There is NO opinion.

Hate? Where do you get hate? If God's TRUTH is hate too you, then, so be it. You and God, can and will discuss the means of your scriptural interpretation, consisting with a man-made defacto on a motion of plea bargin I guess. I dunno.

And if this is the life of other's, how may I ask does it affect your life in any way at all? Does the fear that someone else may have a hope and wish that may be right and you just don't feel that way yet, so instead of embracing the chance or opportunity you try to negate their feelings and beliefs?
Its your own fear that makes you ask these questions? It doesn't matter one bit to you what we think, believe, or hope for?
To give you an example of what I mean, its similar to having a friend or acquaintance that just bought a new car, in your own jealousy and insecurity, you simply can't be happy or accepting of it, you feel you must tell him all the reasons that you think that model is crap. There is only one way for insecure people to feel secure about themselves or to feel better about themselves, and that is to put down the other. You can only build yourself up bytrying to make someone else feel smaller or inconsequential.
So if others want to believe there is something out there greater than us, or a Father in Heaven keeping us safe, maybe instead of bashing them, sit down and really think of what you believe, or wish or hope for!!

It's certain that there is something greater than you. No-one will be able to keep you safe when your time has expired. You had better hope that there's not a hell. If you can't ask intelligent questions about religeon, just shut up.

I was saved in 1976 but didn't go to church right away. I fell away from God. 22 years later, in 1998, I was on my way to pick up my daughter for the weekend from my ex (comon-law). I suddenly knew they were moving and that it was a long way away. When I got to the door, my ex said, "Come in and sit down, I have something to talk to you about." I already knew what it was. They were moving 1200 miles away. Thing is, even if you decide to ignore Jesus for 22 years after getting saved, He still helps you when you really need it. As I was preparing to move, I began reading the Bible. I felt it very important to memorize Matthew 25:40, which was unusual for me because I never memorized any scripture before at all.

I prayed to Heavenly Father in Jesus' name for a wife. I told no one about my prayer. A week later, a woman I knew called me and said, "You're not going to believe this, but God inspired me to ask you out on a date!" We got married six months later.

When I was engaged in 2001, my future father-in-law became very upset with me. He ****** back his fist and said, "I'll drive you..." Suddenly I quoted the scripture I had memorized three years earlier and 1200 miles away. He turned white as a sheet and walked away. Turned out, it was his father's favourite scripture!

I went to a church and was asked to help pass sacrament. As I stood there looking at the covered plates of bread, I suddenly felt a JOY that came into my chest; it didn't come from me but came into me. It was so shockingly beautiful I didn't know I was crying until a tear got half way down my cheek.

He gives you the proof AFTER you have faith.

In Jesus' name.

Hello...I hope you're not denying that everyone is allowed to think the way they want, and have their own beliefs. Everyone has the right to believe, and just because you think a different way then they do doesn't make it right for you to smack talk them. You need to get a life and stop denying that you don't believe anything because you think you're too important to care. Newsflash.

religion was meant to bring comfort to people. people make up stories about death in order to deal with it; they're afraid, and they aren't to be blamed. i wish i were naive enough to believe it, because the truth is much more painful.

what bothers me most is that people use religion as an excuse for their own hatred and violence. they don't hate foreigners, homosexuals and women becuase the bible said so - they hate them because they just do, and they use that book as an excuse. everyone interperts the bible differently, people only see what they want to see and take what they choose. it is a miserable thing.

You seem to be searching for truth. I always wonder why atheist come to this site. I have told you before that I really don't think that you are an atheist. What would an atheist know about heaven, a place that you don't believe in or care about going? If you don't think these Christian beliefs are true that is your choice but if it turns out they are you are dooming yourself to an eternity in hell. Are you willing to make that your choice?
