What's the difference between a person who's a sex addict and a person just going through hormones stage? My only guess is that for people whom are sex addicts, it has something to do with demanding for sex all the time, and actually losing their virginity with another person. The person who goes through these hormone stages are completely normal as long as you have total control over these hormones (as in not looking at porn magazines, play porn video games, or even look at porn movies/websites). However, I noticed that there's a medication out there (I saw the advertisement on TV once) for people whom are sex addicts or something. If anybody knows the name of it, does that stuff really work?

to add more details about this question, is it possible that certain meds could effect your sexual phases you go through?

First of all, you do not have total control over your sex hormones (testosterone in men and estrogen and progesterone in females as well as oxytocin in both) but you can do things to control your responses to them and whether or not you choose to stimulate your sexuality through magazines etc. An addiction is usually some kind of physical and psychological dependence, in this case to acts of sex generally for the positive feelings the activity causes. As far as curbing sexual desires in this context and in reference to chemical inhibition of sexual urges I can't help you. Also, if you see adverts on TV be skeptical, trust the FDA as far as sex drugs go.
