I have been dating this guy and we spent a weekend together at a hotel. We have discussed our HIV status and decided that condom would not be used every time. Two days after the weekend I felt sore in vaginal area and rushed to the doctor, who diagnosed a yeastlike infection. I got medication and a prescription for him. I invited him over and within the visit I informed him of the happenings. This was very embarrassing as it was our first encounter. I even took the liberty of doing another HIV test to show I was free.

He hasnt spoken to me in two days. I dont know what to think. SHould I have treated myself secretly? did I do the right thing? Would you change your mind? Why hasnt he called?

Well you must be dealing with a boy not a man, because everybody knows a yeast infection can occur normal in a woman's body. He sounds to Dumb!! to even know what that is and probably shouldn't be having sex!! Men can Have and Carry a yeast infection without signs and that's exactly where you might have got it from. Women tend to always feel like it's their fault. But it's the Men who are Soooo Loose and Nasty!! He should be glad you told him, because problems like this takes guts and are very embarrassing. You were the responsible one to go to the doctor, get treated, and then Bring His Sorry A *S medicine that will help him. Yes!! you should have used a condom, but that goes without saying!! Right now we need to address the issue that your faced with Now!! Don't waste your time on him any longer, find someone more understanding of woman's body and their natural occurrences.
Good Luck!!

Clearly you are nervous about catching an STD, which is good--you should be. But if you don't trust him 100%, you should be wearing a condom every time in addition to your oral contraceptives. You didn't mention oral contraceptives. If you aren't using a condom everytime, you need a secondary method of protecting you from pregnancy. Really. Do it.

From your reaction to the yeast infection, it sounds like you don't trust him 100%. The yeast infection is far more likely to come from oral sex than penile-insertive sex. Did he go down on you? Yeast is found in all sorts of places--mouths, GI tract. You have a certain amount of it on your person at all times. I'm sure that your reaction freaked him out. He knows that you don't trust him. I would apologize if I were you.

I'm frankly surprised that your Dr. gave him a prescription. Studies have shown that treating a partner doesn't help with recurrent yeast infections.

His and your negative HIV status has nothing to do with your yeast infection--unless you have full blown AIDS and are immunocompromised.

Dont know how long you've been dating him but since you use condoms there was no reason to tell him. Why would he need medication ? He couldn't have given it to you right ? Yeast infection is not a big deal and is not an STD but he might not really know about it. It could have freaked him out. If he never calls again then your probably better off. Next time I would say dont say anything unless you have to.

well you were crazy for telling him that a yeast infection is not bad at all it is treatable and is gone ina day in 3 days or 7, depends on how bad it is. he did not have to know at all. you screwed yourself seriously if he comes back your lucky if he doesn't now you know. or if you like him that bad just let him know, s h i t you already scared him enough you can go ahead and tell him about what a yeast infection is and what not and maybe he just might come back. he did not need a medication i think that is what did it.

I slept with an older women (she was 30) I was 17 yrs.
In the morning I got up and had a shower after her and the shower smelt like.....yeast.
I freaked and left. But it was through lack of education. Hell, after my first time with a girl I got up and saw a small amount of discharge in her knickers and thought my d!ck was going to drop off. If he likes you and is smart he will come back.
If not.....you can be safe in the knowledge that he is not the kind of guy to support you when you might need him.
All the best.
