Here's he situation: I don't believe, some of you do. No problem, everybody is different. I'd like someone to offer PROOF of a god. BTW - you can't use "Because", "the book says so", "look around you" or a bunch of quotes from a book. I have no problem with admitting I'm wrong - when I really am. I just want hard facts.

Hello - this is a question & answer forum! A place for people to discuss different ideas. My question was not meant to be 'inflamatory' - calm down. BTW, noone has come up with any proof yet.

Well, it doesn't look like you are getting any REAL answers, you can never expect to get a hard and fact-full answer about 'God' or religion from anyone, including Christians, ( or Muslims for that matter). You will always get a quote or the 'it says so in the Bible'. Trust me, you are doing just fine not believing in hocus-pockus magical fables. It's funny when a religious person is calling an atheist 'all mouth', as if anything the religious believe in is fact!! Religion is all 'mouth', because it sure as hell not 'thinking' or 'brain'!!

OK, the Bible says dates of certain guys making the earth roughly 6000 years old. Now if I can show the Bible to be true, then what is inside is also true.

1) The bible was written by 40_ writers over 1500 years with no conflict from various lifestyles, rich to poor, preacher to king. No conflicts at all.

2) The Bible predicts evolution as a lie and that people would follow it. From the KJV 2 Peter 3-3-7

The Bible is true. Science is a creation of God, but evolution is of the Devil. 2 Peter 3:3-7 says

"3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

3) Research Leap Second. The world would be spinning too fast for evolution to be right, but the Bible would be correct.

4) Dinosaur and human foot prints are found in rock layers older then what evolutionists says man existed.

5) Trees are found standing in multiple rock layers. An impossiblity if the rock layers represent millions of years. It happened from a Global flood like he Bible says.

6) The moon is leaving the earth. It gets father away every year. In the past it was closer and since the moon governs the tides, the earth would be flooded twice a day some 100,000 or so years ago if the Earth was that old.

Finally it is faith. Admit I am a sinner, Believe is Jesus Chrsit as the Son of God also as God who died for our sins on a cross then rose again to defeat death. Call upon Jesus to save you.

OK well I believe in a God but not any God anyone else believes in so I am told I am an atheist even though by definition I am not.

Anyway I could not be an atheist..takes too much faith. I cannot look at how perfectly the entire universe fits together, how the Earth formed and life came together so well and how the cycles of Nature are almost seamless without thinking there is something higher involved.

I believe God is the everything put together, like a giant organism and we are but individual cells in the organism (hence God loves me because I am part of it..and prayer would work kinda like when your elbow itches and you scratch..a message to the mind to give you something needed).

This to me explains why we have good and bad, order and chaos and everything else. Since would need both forces to keep everything working. Also explains to me why I would prefer to be good since if am and do good it is good for the body which benefits me..if am and do bad it hurts body which hurts me.

When I do I am absorbed into the Body and I will become part of other things which will make me part of everything.

Well don't know what you think but there it is..make of it what you will and if you don't believe it and think it makes no sense...well no big whoop to me.

JOJO: planets came to be gravity and cosmic dust forming out of space..we are "perfectly" evolved to this Earth..another spieces on Mars would be different but perfect for Mars..you CAN prove love by actions, feelings. If I were to use your reasoning you cannot PROVE hunger, or pain, or fatigue since they are intangible and they can be proved. Feelings are hard to prove as relates to individual though..I get upset quickly when tired while my cousing gets all bubbly and chatters like a chipmunk..both are tired but different reactions

The proof you seek can only come from within yourself. For the normal person they make decisions based upon the facts that are presented to them. I feel each human (man/woman) is born with a created spirit that over time longs to know it's creator (God). That inner thirst, if followed and with an open mind and heart will bring one to the point of that decision alone. The only certifiable proof of God comes from God Himself in the form of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is also the outreach agent of God. Once a person understands and accepts Christ then God's Holy Spirit is given and dwells within a person's body along with their inner spirit and gives proof of their salvation. Only through that reality of that experience can one have any tangable proof. The proof of God is from the spirit as God is Spirit and the physical world seeks physical proof which can not satisfy everything that God exist.

Marc,

Do you really want someone to try and convince you or are you trying to convince yourself that there is not a God so that you can be agruementative? If you can somehow explain how things came to being let's leave out God for a minute-okay now where do we go? Who put the planets where they are so that they could bang in to each other and we automatically came to being. I mean a perfect human being came to be and this earth was perfect and the water was divided from the land, just like that? HUM? I know that it is hard to imagine because you want proof, like I always say, We love but how do you prove love? You don't, because it is intangible, but you can feel it, yes you can buy things and do things to prove your love but you can't honestly touch love, we know the earth rotates on its axis but can we see it, No, but we believe it. Right? You are not wrong when you feel the way you do, you are searching and that is okay. Because we all need answers in our life that make us comfortable, not just because I told you so, or the priest, pastor ,rabbi told you so. Keep searching you will eventually find what you are searching for. Good luck to you in your search. God Bless.

Leave the bible out of it, its just a book. The bible says its the word of god, but would you belive the next Harry Potter book if -it- said it was the word of god? The claim would be just as valid.

The simple question I have for an atheist, is "what came before, and what comes after?"

We could throw in "Where did you come from?" and "Where will you go?" as specific versions of the question.

So?

The answer is God. Mind you, not some white dude with a long beard and a flowing robe. But the ultimate answer is 'God'

No I dont think He/She cares if you're gay or not, and I certainly don't believe that the Bible is the word of god, but I'd like to think He/She is happier if you follow the Golden Rule.

I read somewhere about another atheist challenged a Christian to prove the bible was the word of God. The Christian asked him if he could prove that even one verse in the bible was true would that convince him that the bible was true. When told yes the Christian reached out and wrung the atheist 's nose making it bleed thus proving the verse in proverbs that states the wringing of one's nose produces blood. I promise I would not try that on you even if i were near you. However I want you to consider Gods test to prove that the Bible is the word of God and if it is that would prove the existance of God. Check out all the prophecy about Isreal and put it to God's test of if it is his word or not. (in case you do not know it states that the word of God must come true or it is not the word of God). I will pray that you find the one you are looking for. God bless you

May I suggest that you read, 'The Case for Christ', by Lee Strobel?
He, too, was an atheist. He's also a journalist. He set out to disprove the deity of Christ with results that surprised even himself.

I would not attempt to "prove" anything to you, today or tomorrow.

When YOU, want too know truth. You come to me with a sincere heart, and we might talk.

Right now, you are a ALLIGATOR ATHEIST.

"ALL MOUTH"

Want "Proof"? Go get a 5th of Jim Beam*. It's 100 Proof.
