It is important to obey God's word, obey means to do what is asked of you. According to the King James Version, we are to live as Christ like as possible, obey the Ten Commandents, love others as Christ loved them, believe that Jesus is God's only begotten son, be baptized, and repent your sins, and follow Jesus.

Of course it's important. But it's more important to obey out of your heart and not out of obligation.
The trick is not to look at it as an obligation. The Bible also says seek first the kingdom of God and all of these things will be added unto you. The more you seek God, the more you will know Him, and the more you know Him, the more you will naturally desire to obey Him. It's not about rules, it's about love and passion.
Many blessings.

I read and understand that God through has done all that can be done to allow you a choice to obey or not to obey and the reason for it.. Its a mind set it doesn't you will be perfect but it does mean that we have to keep trying to obey God and when we sin (disobey Him) we ask for forgivness and try not to do it again/ 1st a non beliver hears what God says,2nd he realizes he is not in harmony with God and confesses that he believes in Jesus Christ son of God was crucified ,buried and arose after 3days to give eternal life in heaven with Him, and 3rd we manifest our commitment to Him by being baptised for remission of our sins and recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit (eternal life in heaven and a true understanding of the bible ,the word of God 4th we have to try to live as best we can by the example Jesus Christ //May God bless------

I think it's important that we try -- not only to obey scriptures but also to emulate Christ and to follow our conscience (which we have a duty to improve) in things that AREN'T mentioned.
We'll probably fail, sure. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't repent or worse, stop trying!

Yes, it is important to live out God's Word the Bible.
To live humbly before God, knowing His ways are best, even though sometimes this might go against how we feel, we can only benefit long term from being obedient.

Well sure, as a Christian it is incumbent of you to abide by scriptural admonitions. However when one looks at the Bible, you are looking at compilation of a large variety theological and moral views that span a time frame of several thousand years. Hence, one should be a little bit discerning in what scripture one chooses to obey. As Christians we look to the Old Testament for guidance and to learn about our spiritual roots, however, it wouldn’t be prudent to follow many of the moral imperatives in the Old Testament because they are antiquated and in many cases brutal. As a Christian never look at a specific exhortation in the Old Testament in isolation, but instead look at with respect to how it is modified by New Testament teaching, specifically the teachings of Christ.
For example, in the Old Testament you have a verse that calls for exacting revenge on those who do injustice to you: "And if [any] mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot." (Exodus 21:23-24). If one were to look at this verse in isolation, without respect to New Testament teaching, then following scripture would make revenge permissible. It is this sort of compartmentalized way of looking at the Bible that gives rise to the host of theological errors that is so pervasive among Christian fundamentalists that call for war and the death penalty.
Yet when one looks at the New Testament command, which supersedes the Old Testament view of morality, we see Jesus state: “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also” (Matthew 5:38-39) Jesus in effect has nullified the notion of retributive justice, and supplanted it with a call to forgive and serve those who have wronged you.
I hope by that little example I have illustrated the need to not just blindly obey Biblical morality. Always be mindful of the context when you are trying to live a Biblical sound life. Remember the Bible can be used as a useful guide for ones moral and spiritual betterment. However, when read improperly, and without analysis, it can also be used as the foundation for hatred, bigotry, belligerence, and any other moral vice one can think of.
