Take the cat to the vet, it could be a warble which will kill the kitten, if it goes to the brain, it can cause brain damage or death, if it goes to the spine, it can cause paralysis.

It could also be an abcess if another cat has attacked it or something has bitten it. The wound becomes infected and busts, leaving it open to even more germs so it needs to be cleaned out and antibiotics, possible even steroids administered.

There are a number of other possibilities, the only way to find out is to have it properly diagnosed.

It could be a warble. A warble is like a maggot living in the skin. If you put petroleum jelly or something over the hole, it will draw the warble out. My cat had a hole in its head and I made it a vet appt. Before the kitten went into the vet, I got to see the warble coming in and out of my kitten's head. It was disgusting! If you wait too long it can get infected. Do not try to pull it out yourself if it is one... it can leave the head in there and make it worse.

I stay contained in the Pacific Northwest, and this sounds like a deer tick to me. If no longer a deer tick, a tick of a few form. i desire you nonetheless have this ingredient. positioned it in a jar and keep it. Then, call your vet and make an appointment to get those kittens in there, taking the jar with this creature in it to the vet. you could't use products like Frontline, Frontline Plus (your suited wager) or income on a kitten. besides the undeniable fact that, your vet would have some type of those issues that is very made for kittens. all of your different adult animals also want to be dealt with with Frontline Plus. This one is the suited, because it no longer in straightforward words kills fleas, yet as well repels ticks & mosquitos. i'm fairly curious to understand if this replaced right into a tick or no longer, yet i'm having a chance that it replaced into. reliable success in getting this lower than administration.

well i know for sure that the jelly idea from one of the other users works. i know this due to the fact that i have a kitten and actually found this site when trying to figure out what to do. if it is a warble then just use the jelly and it comes out. it takes a while but it worked. the hole is Small but the warble could be really big. i know that the one we got was bigger then we thought. but yeah just wanted to say thank you and to let you know if you see a worm or bug it is a warble and all you will have to do is grab jelly, and tweezers. but it took 3 people just to get this one worm so don't do it alone. plus its way to gross to do alone.

I agree with Calico. If you press down around the hole it will put pressure on it and you can pull it out with tweezers. The thing looks similar to a cocoon when it comes out. You may have to wait a few dys before it is close enough that you can see it. Pour peroxide in it and it will make it come out far enough to get hold of it. If there is a hole there it is about ready to be taken out.

What kind of hole? does it go all the way through to the bone? Is it bleeding and oozy? take her to the vet. She could've been bitten by an animal, stabbed by a jealous "kid" (some kids who have psychological problems like to torture animals), maybe it's a bad infection caused by an insect or other source...

A fly could have laid an egg on top of the skin and it has hatched and has burrowed into the skin. Take your cat to the vet to have the larvae removed
