Don't have the exact web address, but google Tom Fitzmorris + New Orleans
Tom's a food critic and just a guy who knows a lot about New Orleans. His info is helpful to find clubs and restaurants which have re-opened since the storm. Also try nola.com

We were there in late Feb. and it was coming along ok. The biggest problem we had was eating after 8:00 PM because they were so short of help in the restaurant because there wasn't enough living quarters for the workers so they closed earlier then they use to. I'm sure its probably better now. Some of the restaurants were going to open in March that we loved. As for the night live it was booming already then. Pat O'Brien piano bar that we really enjoy was not open during the week nights. The Pelican Restaurant was not open yet. You will have a great time I'm sure.

You are going to have a wonderful time. I live here, and the French Quarter was largely untouched by Katrina. It did not flood. We really need your tourist dollars at this point and time, so thank-you for returning.
I think you will find that most merchants are even more hospitable than normal. I hope you enjoy your visit.
You can take a tour of the more affected areas of the city. This will give you a better idea of what Katrina did to us, than what you will see in the Quarter.

Absolutely! The French Quarter and the City is doing just fine! The Quarter didn't suffer much from the Hurricane. The people are still as warm and friendly as they always were. Come and have fun!! You are a fun group, contact me before you come :)

I was there last month and had a wonderful time...still not the same as it was before but close. new orleans has a way of bouncing back in their own way. i ate some great food...try:
Port of Call (known for their burgers and baked potatoes, this is not on Burbon but I think it's on Esplande)
Gordon Biersch (across from the Casino)
Mothers
Acme Oyster Bar
Here is a clue, the smaller of a hole in the wall place it is, the better the food!
Have Fun!
And the night life is still jumping!

The Quarter is definitely back, because it was barely gone to begin with. It's just about 100% so bring it on. I stayed a weekend at the Royal Sonesta for a fraction of the usual rate two weeks ago, so you'll get excellent lodging bargains. Great time to spring for the amenities!
