Conform means 'to form' or 'mold'. World is the normal word for 'age' or 'era'. Instead of being molded by the values of this world, believer should be transformed, that is, changed by the renewing of the mind.

A renewed mind will produce life that stand the test of time...We can resist temptations of our culture by meditating on God's truth and letting the Holy Spirit guide and and shape our thoughts.

So basicly, we do not need the new ideas of the world...we just need to be reminded of the old ideas. God's word is valid at all times. We should be faithful to our God.

Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world....

That was how we were before we accepted Christ...we lived in the world and we loved the world. The world's system is based on feelings...and the decisions people make (that are not Christian's) are based on feelings...especially the love feeling. They say the most loving thing a person can do is.... and make judgments based on feelings.

We are not to be conformed by that thinking any longer. We are to renew our mind with the knowledge of the Bible. Yes, that takes work. Acting on this knowledge will transform our lives and we will not look, act, or think like the non-Christians that surround us.

Means what it says.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Don't do what the world does, obtain a little wisdom from God, be discerning of who is of good and who is of evil, and live in the law, and learn what God wants and when he wants it.

You should not me as the world anymore. You are a new creature you are suppose to be in sync with God.Your mind is renewed because you are a Christians and you have to do works according to God's will. Your light has to shine so people will know that you are Christians and no longer are apart of the world no more. You must do what is acceptable in God eyes.

first part Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world = give up following what our fallen sin nature want, that is to say to be in rebellion against God and God's plan for our life.
2nd part but be transformed by the renewing of your mind = Let the word of God convict us our sin so we can see our need of Christ's blood to cleanse us and change us. Study to show thyself improved. Learn that Christ's sacrifice is the only way to heaven and for us to have the ability to change to become what he wants us to be. To become totally dependent on Christ to save us and change us because we lack that ability. Praise Jesus for giving us everything we need.

It’s a pretty straightforward verse that encapsulates the mandate that applies to all Christians. Once you accept the Gospel message you are set apart from the world, and therefore you should not abide by the expectations of the world when they are in conflict with Godly principles. In other words, worldly desires, or what society thinks is proper, takes a back seat to your duties as a Christian.

It means don't follow the ways of the world, grubbing after money, sexual sin and stuffing your face with food but read scripture and take on the mind of Christ. Learn to view the world the way Jesus does.

I will give you my opinion, but please keep in mind, it is just my opinion. I never had any formal education in theology. Whatever I will say here is based on what I learned from my church.

I think this verse means that we should try to be different in this modern world by continuing to be a faithful child of God through obedience to His laws and commandments.

I interpret it to mean to change your ways and renew your mind by turning to Christ. It definitly tells us not to conform to the world' (unbelievers) way.

The bible says that Jesus had fairly you no longer sin, yet once you do you have an recommend with the daddy, that's Jesus Christ the righteous. you would be forgiven for making a mistake or sinning, the bible says all way of sins would be forgiven settle for blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. This scripture is to somebody who has come to the understanding of the certainty, that's Jesus died for our sins, and with the aid of him we've life. yet reject the certainty and circulate approximately their lives not at all accepting Jesus for remission of their sins, they therefor have not have been given to any extent further sacrifice, as there is in hassle-free terms one thank you to Heaven. and that they have got rejected that direction.
