do some Atheists say that evolution and the big bang are proven facts, when they are nothing more then theories (faith)?
AND
Why do some Christians say that the bible is proven fact when it is nothing more then faith (theories)?
And I'm not looking for bible quotes, I'm looking for opinions on both sides. Honest, original, from your own heart opinions.

The real truth is that we only have faith in either science, religion or both or neither. We don't know for a fact what the truth is and there is evidence to support science, the existence of God and the non-exitence of God. We will know the absolute truth, the questions will be answered, when we die so why bother hating and trying to make others believe in what you believe. Both science and religion teach tolerance, that means accepting differences. What happened to that?

And, how come there are those that cannot come up with an answer that comes from within, they MUST quote the bible. While I do believe in God, I believe that the bible was written by men, edited by men and various parts deleted by men and therefore any quote from the bible does nothing for me. It neither proves nor disproves either side.

Yet, the bible is a good road map because it is so old. It does give us clues to locate various historal places because the men who wrote it were there.

I believe in evolution as a pretty good theory as well as the big bang. I have never heard of it described as a fact..
I am a Christiona and know that it is faith. I think some people have very strong faith and confuse that with demonstratable fact..

I say the Bible is proven fact. I say this because it has been and still is used as a road map to every archelogical dig ever done. Also how else can you explain the inteicate system we call life. A big bang caused a life form like ours where all parts of the body have to work together to keep the body going. Or it evelved from an ameba in the ocean. None of that makes any sense. I also know that God exists in my life and the lives of my family and others. If it was not real then noone would have been able to find where Jesus walked and taught and was born. How about the Bible telling of all the current events especially in Revelation. Read it you learn something new.

Very correct way of thinking - Wish I could give you points for that.
Well - on contrary, Evolution can be proven with DNA tests etc. where as the theory of God cannot be proven as yet. Even the big bang could be proven to a certain extent with the expansion of the universe. It is like a = b and b = c if so a = c. But in God's case that only thing we can prove at the moment is that the Bible is a fiction.

The Bible is true. Science is a creation of God, but evolution is of the Devil. 2 Peter 3:3-7 says
"3Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Also the leap second proves evolution to be false making the Bible true

Christians and Atheists have this much in common. They both say that their favorite hobby horse is a 'proven fact' because it's far easier to make that claim than to have to go through the work of proving it to themselves. Classic Darwinian Evolution violates basic laws of physics. The Big Bang is too esoteric for most people to understand. The Bible, while it has successfully guided generations of men, and so in that sense is proven, is easy to twist into whatever pretzel form the reader wishes to make it into and old enough that its provenence is questionable. Nothing is as simple as people like to make them.

I cant comment on the orthodox religious people because they will believe and do anything in the name of God.But it's seriously shocking to see scientists do that. Evolution I feel maybe a theory but it does make immense amout of sense, so I don't feel they r wrong with that. But the Big Bang, I feel it's very much made up. Physics wise it does appear sound but I still feel that it's acceptance has been rushed before concrete observations, however it could be correct but I have my doubts

I consider myself to be totaly christian. But it's weird.I can see dinosaur bones and pictographs from prehistoric times. And almost nearly nothing physically concrete today about God himself.HMMM.It makes me wonder too.But blind faith in a higher being is confidence in your own self being.I love God and all his Glory. But it's not hard for me to understand why some would prefer the scientific to the spiritual. There is evidence to look at for Atheism in one way. And just a firm belief to look to relegion in another way. This debate will go on forever.Sceptics for and against both points will always find another way.To try to discredit each other. It's called Free will in this society.Have a great day! theory =/= faith.
A Theory is an explanation of phenomena seen in the world that has been tested thoroughly and accepted as Inductive Truth.
A Law is the same thing, except it is a guideline for a speicific phenomena.
Explanation and guidelines are different, but both Theories and Laws are accepted as true by the sizeable amount of evidence proposed for them.
