If you have one extra 100 calorie sweet drink every day you will gain ten pounds every year. That means by the time you are 29 you will have put on another 200 pounds. That is not counting the fact that if your are insulin-resistant (your body has a hard time dealing with concentrated sugars) you are on a straight track to diabetes which can cause you to need your legs amputated or raise the risk of a heart attack. Keeping slugging down fattening foods also will make you so unattractive to females that you will not need to worry about sperm issues.
Try drinking no-sugar drinks with sweeteners like aspartame. They taste just as sweet but have zero calories.

The high levels of the sugar that you consume could possible result in diabetes. It needs to be tapered off. Start by not finishing one pop, maybe even just a drink and dump it down the sink. But go slow. Just a little bit at a time until you slow down the amount being consumed. Is it the sugar that you are addicted to or just the fact that you are 19? Remember go slow. If you go too fast you can get withdrawals symptoms-like headaches, shakes. I know it is just sugar but it can do some damage.

Thats not that bad at all 2 drinks a day? I use to drink about 2 liters a day of soda. It is horrible for you and when you stop you feel considerably better, I noticed it since I stopped during soccer season and I just got a whole new boost of energy. The sugar in it will make you put on a couple extra pounds and also increase the probability of diabetes. Find another drink which is better for you to replace it I personall love propel.

Excessive sugar intake in sodas was on the news this morning as being the leading cause of obesity in the US.
It gives you a spike of energy at the time and makes you feel tired afterwards.
It does bad things to your blood sugar levels and can predispose to diabetes.
Caffeine in the drinks is a whole other issue.

First - the problem with sugar, is that it comes with molasses, but they take it out, when you remove that from the sugar, it becomes worse for you.
Second - sickness feeds on sugar, if you keep eating too much sugar, if there is any sickness in your body, you are just helping it keep you sick.
Third - the body needs insulin for all the sugar you eat, even if your body always produced enough sugar, and you never became a diabetic, too much insulin is bad for your body, causes problems.
So you don't want to eat too much sugar, since that will produce insulin.
White bread turns to sugar after you eat it, so even if you said no to sugar, if you eat white bread, you are still eating sugar.
Now think, if you eat white bread, and you eat sugar, you are really producing the insulin now.
Slow down on the sugar, if you wear out your body so it can't produce insulin, that would be a terrible life.
It's hard at first, but you can do it.
Don't eat white bread, eat wheat bread. I always eat wheat bread, unless it's a hot dog or hamburger, and stay away from other stuff that uses white flour.
Just as sugar and the removal of molasses, they did the same thing with flour, they took out the wheat and bleached it to make white flour, now it's not good for you because of that.
High fructose corn syrup is not as good as sugar, because sugar tells you to stop when you are full, the high fructose corn syrup doesn't trigger that part of your brain to stop eating when you are full, so you eat more and more.
This is what I have learned over the years, you have to decide for yourself what to do with your body.

I find that if I start the day with something sugary (like cereal or pancakes, etc.) I continue to crave it all day. Start your day with protein (eggs, cheese, or meat) and try substituting a drink with less carbs/sugars. (read the back label) You won't have such variations in blood sugar and the cravings will be more manageable. I found this website for you to check out. I wouldn't get too fanatical, but it's good to be moderate in your sugar intake. Good luck!

This is absolutely unhealthy...soda is nonnutritional empty calories...And in simple words excess sugar will make your insulin system to an overwork...and all excess sugar is converted to fat...Try to cut this off completely....because even if you want to drink diet sodz...artificial sweetners are not good either....And by no means refined sugar in any form is good....So stay out of it...You are young...and you can do it...Good Luck..Sorry, if it was hard.

A lot of study has been done on the effects of soda intake. One study indicates it promotes obesity. I doubt two cokes a day will harm you in any way.
