Are Boston Terrier's a one person dog? My friend has recently taken interest in one, and she doesn't know?

Oh, absolutely not! Boston Terriers love everyone!

I *always* tell my puppy people that they can never be allowed to run loose, because they will run right out into the road to see a passer-by or jump into a stranger's car to say hello. They make terrible guard dogs because of this trait, as well. They also adore children, if brought up around them.

Tell your friend to be sure to check out the breeder, meet the parents, and ask if the parents have been screened for eye problems, hearing problems, breating problems, and luxating patella. If the puppy's parents are both friendly, outgoing dogs, it's more likely that the puppies will be, too.

Here's a great reference site for Boston Terriers:

Best of luck to your friend!

My Mom and Dad own 2 Boston Terrier's . They are very lovable and like being around both of my parents as well as visitors.I wouldn't say they are a one person dog.... when people say a one person dog .....they mean the dog belongs to them they feed , take care of and spend time with their dog . It doesn't mean the dog can't or wont mind anyone else...hopefully they have taken the time to properly socialize them and train their dog.

No they are not really one person dogs they become one person dogs due to one person grooming them and feeding them. They may favorone person more than another and that is due to that person doing everything for the dog

I've heard they are some of the sweetest dogs ever. I have't heard them referred to as one person dogs. I have heard of the following breeds being one person dogs that are generally not friendly to strangers:pit bulls, schauzers, malteses, westies, scotties, and Austrailian cattle dogs.
