I am currently going through a very difficult time. I feel trapped where I am and I need help finding the right way to go or look for happiness. God can help me right? How do I ask for his guidance with this?

First, I recommend you pray the Lord's Prayer (the Our Father). Do this daily--most essential prayer and the one that God has taught us to pray. Next, I recommend that you ask the Lord to guide you in your decision making; to help you make the right decisions so that you will live your life according to His wishes.

You might not get help in the way you want or expect, and you might not get help immediately. I think that sometimes God wants us simply to get used to praying to Him before we are answered. I don't think this is done as punishment, but rather to get us used to looking to Him for guidance and to learn to trust Him. In the mean time, take good care of yourself--be sure to eat right and exercise and avoid negative habits. I strongly recommend attending a church and speaking about your difficulties with a pastor (or whatever religious leader) and ask for others to pray for you.

Just ask God for guidance!

Ask and you will receive, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be opened unto you.

Having a relationship with God, daily seeking Him for our lives, and spending time with Him alone in prayer - He will speak to us through these times. A verse of Scripture will jump out of the page at us, or it might be a thought which we might have had during the day, and then the thought links up with a verse from the Bible. At times, God can speak to us through other people, but be careful here, because it should always be inline with the Word of God.

I am in a simular situation right now, regarding my job, and I am seeking God for direction. It takes patience sometimes, because things don't always happen when we want them to. However, if we surrender to the will of God for our lives, we will know that His timing is perfect, and He never fails!

Hope this helps!

Very simply,
pray this prayer;
Lord, You know the difficult times I am going through, You know my feelings and what I need. Only You can help me gain the insight to deal with this situation and I ask You to show me the right and proper way You would have me go. In Christ's name I pray, Amen
God bless and keep you.

God knows all. Just approach Him as you are. Don't be afraid to present yourself broken before God. Don't be afraid to cry or yell at Him. He loves you so much that He can take it. The Book of Revelation tells us that He collects your tears in a bottle and documents each one. He will hear you and answer you. Ask God to help you find happiness in your situation. Seek out the lighter side yourself if possible.

I apologize if this suggestion is too broad, but hopefully you can apply it to your situation. In summation, praise Him in all times - good and bad. If you feel bogged down, this may be a way that God is trying to get you to grow closer to Him.

God Bless!

Robert

If you belong to God (born again) you can ask for help in prayer. He will answer you in some way-maybe in a faint voice from within, or maybe through scripture. Sometimes the answer is no-it depends on What God is doing in your life.

If you are not a child of God-he will not hear your prayer. You have no audience with God. He only hears the repentance prayers of the lost.

At one time I had a really sassy, sparkling and obnoxoius mouth and that i lashed out at my then fiance in public, of route I requested forgiveness the punishment become the proper results of what I stated that made me experience so poor. So I requested God that previously I carry forth or mouth off or say some thing undesirable about others to rememember how yuccky and poor I felt for my sin. This turned right into a really humbling expericence and it has taught me to imagine previously I talk and to make your ideas up on my words heavily and correctly. Ask God to coach you thoughts to steer away from you from doing the incorrect you probably did, He loves you a lot and GOd is continually there for you 24/7/365. i'm praying for you.

Just ask as if he were a close friend. Also remain open minded as to how you receive your answers. Sometimes the answer is so simple and right in front of us. Like tommorrow you might read something that catches your eye and it leads you in the direction you should go, or you meet someone. You might dream of the answer.

I remember one day, I was doubting God, and as I was driving I quickly glanced up and said "Ok, God, if you are really there just give me a sign". Then some guy pulled out in front of me, I put on my brakes and read the tag on his van - "It said Jesus Saves". I had to laugh at myself I asked for a SIGN and a SIGN is what I got.

sugar_kitty,
Many are right, pray. But I didn't see anything about claiming the promises of God. I hope they just forgot.

Where in the bible is a promise from God that deals with you situation. Wherever in the Bible that promise is, remember it.

Then you tell our Lord that you claim it in His name. During the day when you remember, utter the words to Him.

(You are hearing yourself say it at the same time, what's the promise for that? Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So your faith increases! )

I've got one for you, but search the Bible, you will find that the promises of God are all over the Bible. Here one is:

Ps. 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

You must trust Him. So you might as well look to Him for the things He promised that you can trust Him for.

God can help you get out of situation all you need to to is pray from depth of your heart. God will hear your prayers if you believe in him. Psalm 40:1, I waited patiently for the lord; and he inclined unto me and heard my cry. Psalm 27:7, hear O lord when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me. God will hear you and he will answer your prayers just wait on him. It nothing to hard for God.

I cry for you. I will pray for you. I went through a similar time and am still going through it. I have found that you just have to let go of your control of the matter and just sit and cry for a few minutes. you feel a bit better afterwards, and then you can just pray that His will be done. You've just gotta trust. It is one of the hardest lessons I have EVER had to learn.
