I would check with your doctor, not Yahoo!
If you have a gut infection you may have limitations on what you can eat, or when you should eat...or you may have issues absorbing nutrients...or maybe not.
The point here is that your doctor knows your condition better than any of us and your doctor is best positioned to help you.

Definitely a banana. I know I'm repeating others, but they're soooo right. I used to have IBS but bananas were always very easy on my stomach, and the energy they gave/give me lasts for ages. Coffee isn't so great - the caffeine gives you an immediate buzz, but then slows you right down and leaves you feeling sluggish. Not good for blood pressure either.

Hmm...something nutritious? How about a granola bar, or berries on yogurt? You can't go wrong with fruit.
If you want energy food, try some dark chocolate. Studies show it can be good for you.

Try this... it's a fave of mine after a workout and not "heavy".
1- 1 1/2 C. of vanilla soy milk, 1-2 Tbsp. peanut butter and 1 frozen, sliced banana (slice before you freeze). Put it all in the blender and... voila! Peanut butter, banana smoothie.

Trimethlglycine might work briefly. Also, all the B vitamins together aid concentration, and help people to handle stress.

zelle is right. if you're very "short of nutrients", stick to soup you can see through, or crackers. Once the "shortage" has settled down, you can go for proper chicken soup.

Coffee is actually good for you. I'm not kidding.
If you want to eat something, try an energy bar.
