I actually find it strange not to believe in God. And the question of whether God exists or not is easily answerable. I want you to imagine yourself walking or driving in an empty desert. And suddenly, you find a massive beautiful fully-furnished mansion in front of you. And when you ask people about it. They tell you that this all was built through years by chance. The air brought by some rocks and some wood from distances, and they were precipitated in a manner that this mansion was built, and the same for all it materials. Would you believe this story? Wouldn't you think that there must be somebody that built this on purpose and designed it and worked on it to do it this way. This story is the same for this entire universe. The world is much more complicated than that mansion and there must be a superpower that created it, built it, and controlled it this way. Even the human body is too complicated to have occurred or evolved by chance and randomness. The precise complexity of every creature in this universe, and even the precise movement of planets in the solar system that keeps us alive, is an indication to God who is in control of all that. If you look in the similarities between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam you would get a hint that they have the same origin. The time gap between them is hundreds of years and the languages differ but they have impressive similarities. They must have came to us from the same God, and then changed or modified by humans, and that what makes them different now.

I think it's strange not to believe in something, life is so amazing how else could it have happened this way? The Big Bang maybe but what started that? Where did it come from? There must have been a point where there was nothing except the Alpha and the Omega??? However, noone has the right to judge you because you don't believe so no, you're not "bad"!!

Being unable to conceive of the existence of a god makes you SANE not strange.
Any god (there so many knocking around) is simply a concept used by our minds. Not sure what for at times but sometimes I think it is to justify whatever we want justifying.
the bible is full of contradictions, especially the Old Testament. the New Testament has some great stuff in it but frankly it seems that Christians simply pick the bits they want and then ignore the rest. If christians really did love their neighbour as themselves then maybe we'd have some more peace in the world. why are most religions so damn militant? Is war and fighting really the only answer? I think not my friend.

Maybe Christianity isn't for you... There's nothing wrong with that. Just take a look at the Milky Way, spread out over the night sky, and tell me there's not a creative force, a Grand Architect, a Great Maker, out there. As for them ever having appeared among us on Earth, maybe not. Up until the 1900's, we had laws against witchcraft in this country. In Jerusalem, thiik what they would have made of Paul Daniels or David Blaine, 2,000 years ago. I have a picture of me, walking along a sand-bar about 200 yards 'out in the sea' - it's a miracle - I'm walking on the water! I am the Messiah! The curing of blindness? He rubbed mud in the mans' eyes - that would scrape cataracts off someones eyes, and restore their vision - not the established procedure though.

Ask God to talk to you. Not in some ambiguous way that could be confused and interpreted in a hundred different ways but in the way he spoke to Adam in the garden. If you don't get an answer from him then it really is not you fault for not believing. We are only human and need to communicate in a human way. I don't see why God is so secretive any way. I myself could not love something based on what I thought could be , but might not be.
Anyway, make sure your girlfriend is not a virgin or god might knock her up and if it starts to rain non stop for 40 nights it could be genocide all over again. I don't thing you are in the bad category at all.

Believing and knowing are two different things. You choose not to believe and there is nothing wrong with that. There are some that believe with all their hearts every word that they read from the bible. There are others that believe only because they are afraid not to, given what the consequences are for not believing according to their belief (understand that one?). Then there are many that simply choose to not believe because there is no proof in their eyes and they would rather have faith is something that they actually know is real.
You're not alone.

If you are asking this question, it probably means that YOU are not comfortable with your non-belief.
Perhaps you should consider that there are many spiritual paths. The Bible has not convinced you, and that's okay. Consider talking to people of other faiths. Maybe you will find something that strikes you as true or meaningful if you study Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam etc.
Also there are different churches. I bet if you talk to some Unitarians, you will find that they are very open to doubts and questions. They won't expect you to think you have all the answers in one book.

My dear friend:
You are not ‘Strange’ or alone in your disbelief… uncertainty… etc: there are millions like you… just take a look around you on this site for proof!! I to was the same, for the first 21 years of my life!!
To believe or not to believe is a matter of ‘Choice’: the gift of God is to use your ‘Freewill’ to choose which way to go… as I am sure the ‘Alpha’ course you took, told you. When you are ready to make that choice… you will, one way or another… and it is a choice that ‘No One’ else can make for you!!
If you are sincerely seeking to know and understand the things of God… firstly: Don’t Give Up!! Secondly: Do it for yourself: not to gain favour with your girlfriend!! And third & most important… Ask God to help you!! Continue to read your Bible… Continue to talk to your girlfriend/her Christian family/friends/minister/pastor etc: Go into church… re attend the Alpha Course… study for yourself on a site such as http://christiananswers.net//directry.html!!!
When I first came to know Christ, as my saviour one prayer I said with all my heart is this: -
“God: I don’t know whether you exist, don’t exist, or whether you are just a figment of my imagination… But if you are ‘REAL’ then… ‘PROVE IT… SHOW ME’!!! I believe… help me in my unbelief… in Jesus name… Amen!!!
All I can say is… over the last 22 years… He has done just that 101 times over, in so many different ways imaginable… and believe me my friend… If God can convince and save ‘ME’… He can do the same for anyone!!
Jesus loves you… God bless!!

Strange? no. Reading the bible like a novel is a daunting task, for sure; however, it is meant to be studied. Perhaps you could seek the assistance of your girlfriend to help you understand what it is that eludes you.
Having faith is not a tangible gift, therefore it is often difficult to explain to someone who does not have it. If you are truly seeking His truth then I would encourage you to pray about it. Also, maybe you could speak to a minister that can answer some of your questions.

Maybe you fall into the 5% category, that's roughly how many people on Earth don't believe in a god or religion, I am a spiritualist, we try are best to remain a good life in everything we do, we are enlightened to the universe & it's sorounding, that does not make us pacsifists or fairys, we just appricate life & everything which goes on around us weather that be good or bad, we accept whatever happens, it happens for a reason. we don't blame God or lose or faith, we get on with our lives knowing if somone does bad it will come back on them equal, the universe is perfect, don't try to change it!
