If you have an oval face, any type of hair style will usually work. Maybe try straightening your hair and layer your hair and, like you said, with side bangs. Should look good. Best of luck!

Ask your hair dresser to thin it out, and yes, side bangs do look good. I have an oval face, with thick poofy hair, and i like my side bangs. I also have short hair, which is nice too. But yeah, side bangs are good and straightners are good...I would suggest getting some length off, it could be dead hair that is making your hair heavy and poofy.

Try long bangs first, if you dont like them you can trim them down. You may need to layer your hair all the way through to get rid of mass and calm your hair down. A good stylist will let you know. The layers wont be that noticeable and you will be able to do more with your hair. Good Luck.

Check out the Curly Girl book by Lorraine Massey. Great ideas for working with wavy and curly hair. Since I started using her suggestions I get tons of compliments on my hair. It doesn't get frizzy or poofy anymore and if it does I know how to fix it.

You sound like me! My hair isn't as long as yours, but it's shoulder length. Try using Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner. It really makes my hair look healthy. To tame the poof and frizz, I use Redken curl boost gel. I leave it in my hair for about 30 minutes while I put on my makeup, then use a diffuser to dry. It's not poofy at all, and beleive me, I know what poofy used to be like.

you need layers to take away the frizzies . your ends will make your hair look poofy because of this too . with layering you will have your hair lay nicely , without the layering your ahir just lays on top of all the hair underneath and gives you that helmet hair look ... go to thehairstyler.com and see what style you might like ....

If you cut your hair, make sure you go to a salon where they are experienced with curly hair like yours. If you go to a cheap joint they will screw it up. My hair is thick and curly down to my waist and most hairstylists have no idea what they are doing. Just ask questions and don't let them talk u into anything u don't want to do.
