A Pontiac Vibe is a great car and is a Toyota Matrix basically. My uncle has one with over 150,000 miles on it with no problems to speak of.

For some reason, Vibe is more expensive than it's sibling Toyota Matrix, which are pretty much identical and built on the same assembly line.

I'd rather get the Matrix for the simple reason that Toyota offers a longer powertrain warranty than Pontiac. And I think the Matrix is slightly better looking and probably has higher resale value since most people do not know that the Vibe is the same car.

The truth is that there are 2 answers.
1: The most important things like the engine and transmission are very good, say 8/10.
2: If you were to ride in many of these "great Pontiac's" with 50,000+ miles on it you would be drove crazy by all the buzzes and rattles from everything on the car falling apart. That includes exterior body trim, interior trim, door panels, and audio systems that last 6-12 months before the displays burn out and speakers blow even from reasonable use.
Basically if you can handle a Junker that will most likely run a long time then it is a fine car for you.

I realy like mine. Pontiac is the best and most dependable of the GMAC cars. If you are going to buy American, Pontiac is a good way to go. The vibe itself, is a bit smaller than it looks though. The cargo space is so-so and the passenger space is the same as a Grand-AM.
