so i live in a neighborhood where vehicles are broken into, not stolen just broken into, and i see 2 guys at least across the alley from me checking out cars and pointing at them, so i call the police to tell them there are at least 2 caucasian men in an abandon building can you come and take a look. it is now 1 hour and 21 minutes and i just got a call from the LAPD dispatch saying that they are on the way. i live about 10 minutes walking distance from the police station. for all you tourists this is a city where you can't depend on help from the authority's. this isn't a question, just a statement at how poorly the LAPD is run, but the one with the funniest/smartest remark regarding the LAPD will get 10 points.

i'll tell you what, i already did my job in notifying the authority's, if i get my car broken into one more time i will shot the guy if i see him, i park my car just below my bedroom, all i have to do is open my window and it's duck hunting season for me. since the LAPD isn't gonna handle it you better believe i will.

To Neon: i get your point i really do but i don't live in the ghetto anymore, i actually live in an upscale city where there isn't any gangs (hard to believe huh) and there isn't any stores or markets that can be broken into, so what's their hold-up?

No, for a larger city that is fairly good time, In Atlanta for example they don't even send a car if it is just being broke into.
They merley have the owner phone in a damage report the next day.

In Atlanta I actually caught the person breaking into a car and he assaulted me when I caught him, Well it took almost 2 hours for them to get there

I caught another man breaking into my nieghbors house and Ihad him on the sidewalk outside and it took the police about 30 minutes to get there.

They only have so many police and calls are not first come first serve, next in a district or "beat" there is only so many officers, For a non violent crime they will not send an officer out of one area to cover that call, and police are not at the police station waiting to go out on a call. They may have had 10 to 20 calls waiting when you called in they had to go on, or a more serioius call may have came in before they could come to yours.

This is just normal procedure for any large police department.

There is a silent film call "The Mystery of the Leaping Fish".

Very funny film.

There is a sequence where the detective is trapped by hordes of thugs and calls the LA Police. The cops come to the door and knock, but since no one answers, they just leave.

This film came out in 1916 and there was already knocks against the LAPD

They are busy with other stuff. They are in charge of all of LA, give them a break. They have gang fights and shoot outs that come before a suspicious persons call. They are the ones protecting your ***, show some respect!

It's your own fault, if you would have reported two naked co-eds wondering around you would have had 20 squad cars from three separate precincts combing the area by the time you hung up the phone. LOL
