Don't always assume that cheap is best, there is usually a reason why riding schools are cheap - bad horses or instructors.

You should expect to pay between £10-25 per hour for a group lesson and anything upwards of £25 per hour for a private lesson, depending on the qualifications of the teacher.

Always go and have a look around the school before you book a lesson. Make sure that the place looks well kept and that the horses and staff look happy.
