I'm an agnostic here, not trying to convert anyone.

Some say proof of the Judeo-Christian God is in the Bible. That is interesting.

There is this book I just got at Barnes and Noble ISBN number 0812976568 called The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Is this proof of the FLying Spaghetti Monster? It seems to me that some say that God exists and proof is in the Bible. Using this same rational and highly intelligent standard, shouldn't we investigate the possibility of the existence of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, since there is a book that in and of itself the book would be enough proof?

You won't find proof of God in the Bible.
The only proof you will ever find will be in your heart.
You won't find proof of the FSM in your book, either.
The only proof you will ever have for him will be in your tummy.

You know, I wish I had some extra cash now to pick up this book. Anyway, proof of God's existence for me is all around me, in nature, in my relationships with family and friends, in every breath I take. Simple as that, for me. Faith is the key word for me, so if you have faith in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, then I suppose his Noodly Appendage will be there for you ;)

Interesting point. Does Love exist solely because of the thousands of books of poetry written about it over time? Does the English language exist because of the Oxford Dictionary of the English Language?

Or do these books exist in order to describe experiences with these things?

Interesting.

That would depend on whether or not the information contained within it is worthy of gaining 'divine' status. If it contains poems that rhyme in six major languages, and when read give the reader the ability to speak in tounges, then maybe.

But, if it's just some physics professor saying how God is stupid and pathetic, then I wouldn't recommend worship.

For me, the Bible doesn't prove anything.
The way I understand God is, nature and everything in it. The world around me is my proof that God exists. It's not in a book.

If you're reading about Flying Spaghetti Monsters, that is one thing, but if ou're believing in them, I would suggest laying off the dope for a little while.

Silly Jim. Didn't you know we're only supposed to believe OLD books? Ones where the writers are long dead so we can't question them? Everyone knows nothing comes of new ideas.

But since I haven't seen proof the FSM doesn't exist, obviously I must believe!! After all, it IS written...therefore true....

Ramen!!

Not only proof of the existence of God is in the Bible. You can find proof in other ways as well.

Well, I don't believe the bible is proof of deities however I leave that up to each individual to decide for themselves. If it makes you happy who is anyone else to tell you you are wrong.

Your analogy is flawed. You need to compare the bible to another non- fiction, as it is categorized by the aforementioned Barnes & Noble. Let's start there, then we can compare what's in another non-fiction and truth to the bible and truth.

Peace.
