Second hand smoke = junk science.
Just think of the crap you're breathing when stuck in traffic; benzene, toulene, ethylbenzene, xylene, lead, mecury, etc., etc.

Yes, you are correct, it is more deadly than radiation. Comes as a shock to you doesn't it? There is natural radiation around you everywhere and rarely are people affected by it. Look up the figures at how much more radiation there is in higher elevations. Or look at the affect of uranium in coal. Second hand smoke implies you are in an environment where you can sense it and that means you breathe it directly into the lungs. Even residues from where a smoker has been (for example in drapes at a hotel room) can be harmful. We cannot avoid natural radiation, but we can avoid second hand smoke. I consider it to be a leading part of child abuse.

Hes just saying its more visibly harmful to your health. You see and feel the effects of second hand smoke more than you do radiation. Radiation is everywhere. We all absorb it, but rarely are affected by it. Places in Europe, specifically eastern Europe have higher levels because of the Chernobyl disaster. With second hand smoke, it takes less exposure to notice an effect.

You're right. He's wrong.
There is no safe level of radiation.
Any exposure to either increases your risk of the associated
illnesses.
However, you are exposed to background radiation all the time
(from the Sun, space, etc.) Much of that, you cannot control.
You can control exposure to second-hand smoke, at least
more easily than you can control your exposure to background
radiation.
I think what they are trying to do is encourage a zero-exposure
policy because it is possible. You can't do that with radiation.

No. Everyone seems to be on the 'anti-smoking' train these days. It's just a passing fad. Second hand smoke is not that harmful to anyone. Don't believe everything you read, especially from the government!

smoking is deadly. My grandmother died from lung cancer, she never smoked, however, her husband did. Second hand smoke is no joke. If you think it is, then go ahead, inhale, see what happens to you in a few years
