Probably ... it is what Israel wanted.

No. And all parties know it won't. That is why Dr. (the Quack) Rice has been so silent on this. When the fat's in the fire she and the FratBoy-in-Chief will claim they never wanted this in the first place but were "forced" into by the anti-Israeli/anti-Semite UN.

Look at how Rice was paraded about after the Israeli forces left Gaza. Right up until the Palestinians realized they were now living in the world's largest open-air prison. Palestinians went to the polls and rejected the collaborators (Abbas and Fatah). Hamas won a democratically sanctioned election and suddenly Rice returns to her corrupt positions regarding people elected with whom she disagrees (at the behest of the USA's master [sorry, I meant ally] in the Middle East).

The US could have stopped all this in an hour by telling Israel there would be no weapons, money or intelligence. The US would go to the UN and begin working on a Chapter 7 Resolution demanding Israel stop. Carter and Clinton would have touched down in Lebanon and Israel to be the "honest brokers". Divisions of American forces would be on the border to ensure compliance. And finally Cheney, Rice and Bolton would have been held in a secret, undisclosed location until the above were implemented.

The Middle East has always been in conlict. Many counties, people, and U.N. resloutions have tried. This one might ease the conflict for now, but there is still a deep and long lasting conflict that won't go away even in a few years.

The U.N. resolution as is called will only work if it takes both sides of the coin into consideration on an equal basis.

No. The UN doesn't have the backbone to back up anything they say. They are all talk. Since there will be no consequences for the offending party, everyone can just continue to do what they want. What will they do if this one doesn't work, oh yeah pass another resolution, and another and another.

Have they ever worked in the past?

They didn't work on Sadaam and he was at least partially sane. The president of Iran is NOT sane. He will nuke his own people if he thinks it will bring about the second coming of Mohammed.

Has any UN resolution ever worked? No, it won't work. Killing the terrorists is the ONLY thing that ever works.

Are you referring to the Middle East conflict?
If so, then it will not work. Nothing logical will be supported by fanatic Muslims.

It's up to Israel. I don't think they've had enough. Even if Israel agrees,I don't think those who kill people of the red cross (like yesterday) are trustworthy.
