I lost 20lbs on Atkins. It does work, there's no denying it.
There have been a number of scientific studies done on Atkins. The conclusions were that it does work, but not for the reasons that Robert Atkins thought.
The main reason it works is because Atkins cuts out nearly all sugars. So, instead of going on a blood-sugar roller-coaster ride, which so many obese people are permanently on, your blood-sugar is on a constant level. This significantly decreases any "cravings" you might have for food, and as a result, you actually eat less.
Atkins works psychologically too, because you're not counting calories. With most people, if you tell them they can't eat, that's all they think about. On Atkins, if you want to eat, then eat. Just don't eat carbs.
In a nutshell, even though they don't deliberately do it, most Atkins dieters actually consume less calories than someone who is not on a diet. They consume more fat, but virtually no sugar, and because their cravings are almost eliminated by going sugar-free, they actually eat less. Mad though it sounds, the BBC researchers concluded that Atkins dieters lost weight because they consumed less calories.
Of course, there have been no studies on the long-term effects of a high-fat, low-carb diet, so nobody can conclusively say that it's safe. However, it does work.

The Atkins diet cuts out carbohydrates. Carbohydrates come from foods like pastas and breads. It cuts these things out of the diet and concentrates on meats and other food groups. You will be able to lose the weight but it will be hard to keep the weight off unless you stay with the diet. You are also going to be tired more often because you will cutting out Carbs which give ytou energy. I would suggest another diet plan that will have a longer affect and be easier to maintain.

Atkins works by cutting out carbs from your diet there are alot a comments out on the web whether its good or not so good for you. Personally speaking eating all that fat doesnt sound good to me. I have always found dieting is common sense but people are always looking for a quick fix. We all know whats bad for us so eating these things in limited amounts is better. I tend to eat loads of veg fresh fruit and meat and cut down on bread potatoes but still eat them. If you cant exercise due to surgery then try swimming its the less stressful exercise to your body and great for toning. try walking more not massive amounts to start with but a little every day even if its five mins a day its more than nothing. they reckon you should try and exercise three times a week for a min of 30 mins once you are back to full health. Most gyms have instructors who are trained in providing routines with people with injuries back included they are probably best to advise you.
So try and think what you eat and get some excerise and good look stay focused and you get there but like everything it takes time

Results show that 'Atkins' patients put their weight back on, just like all 'diets'. There is an answer, killing yourself with animal protein is not it.
After trying for 10 years. I finally lost 150+ lbs (12 stone) and kept it off for over 4 years now. I've beaten 3 terminal diseases and I am now in amazing health, all around, not just thinner.
I did it without medicine, workouts, religion, going hungry or hating my food and without an operation or secret formula. I had tried counting: calories; carbs; fat; etc. I had tried jogging, swimming, weights, aerobics, crazy medicines and starving! But nothing ever worked well or lasted very long.
I also had Hypertension, High Blood Pressure, Chronic Asthma, vision and hearing loss. constant colds and ills, annual flu or pneumonia and more. I was approved for bypass surgery and taking usually between 16 and 20 pills a day.
take a look at my before and after pictures...

properly you hafta understand the jobs of each and every. Carbohydrates is ur physique's considerable source of ability and components the ideas and frightened gadget with the nutrition the might desire to function exact. The function of protein is especially for growth and restoration. Its SECONDARY function is for ability in basic terms whilst there is no carbs. (regardless of if its not probable stated that u rather on protein as your considerable source of ability). The meals you consume has an considerable influence on the way you're mentally besides. As for the "tics", tics could be brought about with the aid of a lot of issues, psychological components, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance and so on, yet im confident the shortcoming of carbs might have some influence besides. i individually dont agree w/ any of those diets the place they are announcing "intense protein, low carbs" or "intense carbs, low protein" by using fact you like the two to be healthful. the superb thank you to shed extra pounds in my opinion is to consume superb suited and excercise. It isnt as not hardship-free because it sounds! Im canadian and we've the Canadian foodstuff instruction manual which has reccomendations on what share servings to consume and a lot of ordinary the thank you to lead them to! good luck with ur endeavours! i'm hoping this helped slightly :)

I'm begging you to buy the book. It explains everything, and explains how to do the diet the RIGHT way. There are a lot of misconceptions about it.
But it works!!!
