it's a CVV (those are v's, rather than a w) number for short for Card Verification Value.
just as was answered, it's additional security to prevent unauthorized activity on a credit/credit-check card.
so if someone simply knew the card number, hopefully the merchant would also need to verify that cvv number if it was a "card not present" transaction occurring over the internet, by mail, or over the phone.

It's a security feature to combat fraud. On most cards, it's on the back of the card in the signature box after the card number.

It's on the back of your card, numbers above your signature.

Cash Withdraw...when you call them for a balance they will tell you how much CW you have
