I thought you people want the US to stay out of your affairs? What's the matter, are you afraid the Israelis will finish the job this time?

Hezbollah killed 241 American marines while they slept in their barracks in 1983. Bush stated over five years ago,"If any nation aides, supports, or harbors a terrorist organization then that nation is our enemy.". He said this and elicited a standing ovation from both sides of house and senate. Even Nancy palosi and John Kerry were taking part in the applause on their feet.
What would it say about our own resolve to fight this war on terror if we ordered the Israeli IDF to ceasefire at the fulcrum point of this world wide war. It would be a victory to Hezbollah and they would simply reorganize to repeat this past performance. Our own credibility that we will fight terrorist nations would be diminished and it would weaken our power to simply use diplomacy in other parts of the Middle East. This is the belly of the beast. I say punch the beast hard in it's belly then decapitate it's head which lays in Iran. If we truly want to end this war with victory we must not allow Iran and Syria to accomplish their goal of using the Poor Palestinian and Lebanese peoples as pawns only to incite war on Israel. Israel left southern Lebanon years ago bloodied by the Lebanese army and never wished to return. Since than Hezbollah a terrorist organization strengthened by tyrannical nations started something that couldn't simply be ignored any longer. The two Israeli soldiers kidnapped from within their own borders was the straw that broke the camels back.

You have misconstrued two important things here. First, the attacks are on the terrorist group Hezbollah (who occupy southern Lebanon), second, there is no point of stopping the attacks unless Hezbollah stops launching rockets into civilian only targets, and third, it has to be a start for a meaningful peace process.

Because a plan has been put forth to stop the violence? As long as Hezbollah has the ability to do harm in Israel, the Israeli's have the right to defend themselves. The President only wants what is fair.

ISREALI MURDERING SCUMBAGS !!!!
The only reason Bush wont intervene is the US sells arms to the Isreali's.So if the war stops then the US will lose revenue from the sale of arms. Also Hezzbollah(palistinian by origin)were driven out of Palestine(which the Isrealies continue to invade even though they have no claims to the country)and had nowhere to go.So they end up in Lebanon, as a homeless group. The Lebanese are being butchered by the Isrealies because Hezzbollah have nowhere else to go.Bush and his cronies, including the Angel Of Death ( condoleeza rice ) ahve a lot more riding on the middle east than we are ever going to be told. The Isrealies are using this to their advantage and causing mass murder and genocide to a people who are not even involved !!! How soon the isreali people forget what its like to be beaten and murdered !!! By the way....Bush is a born again christian and acording to the philosophy of that, Armageddon will have to be started in the Middle East so Jesus can be born again !!!! SICK FUCKER !!!

I believe that the White House applied little pressure on Israel until recently for the following reasons:
1. Ongoing battles between Hezbollah and Israel drains valuable resources and manpower from Syria and Iran without much cost to the U.S.A.
2. Allowing attacks to continue for a while helps intelligence agencies to "map out" networks and connections. This guy gives money to this guy who gives money to this guy who gives money to this company and then these guys get rockets. It allows one to follow the rabbit trail.

You know, for once I agree with bush. He's an idiot for the most part, but Isreal has the right to defend itself. Lebanon can't stop Hezbola, so they deserve what they are getting.

He wanted Israel to disarm Hezbollah, because he knows no one else will, including Lebanon or the UN.

because the Hezbollah has been running a part of Lebanon instead of the Lebanese government. Also the Hezbollah has been firing rockets into Israel, the civilians should revolt and kill the Hezbollah, so the civilians are getting what they deserve.
