There's always at least one, in a restaurant, bookstore, bus, whatever. They always have to attract attention to themselves, because they're so damn interesting. Right. Bugs the heck out of me. You could just tune them out, or better yet, if you have someone next to you, whether you know them or not, you could start talking loudly like the perpetrators and say "Wow, those people are obnoxious, don'tcha think??" Then turn and grin at them. Or get involved in their conversation (very loudly, of course), and say "WOW, REALLY? GO ON!! I'M SURE THE WHOLE BUS WOULD LIKE TO HEAR MORE!!" Hopefully THAT would get the message across. Usually only works in buses, or restaurants if you're really close to them. :)

GREETINGS EARTHLETTE
(noisy bus volume text above). Living on Sarf Lahndahn, I know only too well what you mean, especially teenagers who speak with a high pitched ghetto lisp (has anyone noticed that, the da ghettto lisp; ai!?). Anyway the cure is like most things saint like patience, although in me I freely admit while it may appear as that, in fact its a brely supressed desire to take a large bat and crack them ova der marfs (S London ghetto lithp for "over their mouths")

Yes and most of the bus drivers are afraid to say anything to them. They get descriptive and use really bad language, it is really annoying. And now there are people who just talk to their friends on their cell phone making the rest of us hear what they are saying.
And don't get me started on my workplace which is supposed to be a professional office. They're distracting when you are trying to do your work and the management simply looks the other way.

I think you will find that's how the creators of the Telly Tubbies got the names for La La and Dipsy, it was those two on your bus who talk like their in la la land and the other is such a dipsy thing, are those sort of people annoying or what, I honestly think they have no morals or sense.

It's nearly always the teens, they cant help it! Its an attention thing, and they grow out of it one day. The worst place where everyone really does talk in hushed tones and where there's a sense of impending doom is in the waiting room at the dentist, broken up by the occasional oowwwwww!!

This is because we do not want other people to know what we are talking about as they would not be interested in hearing our conversation. They are also interested in their own stories. Privacy is of paramount importance. Other people would be irritated by our stories if we were to talk loudly.

They are usually the low class peasants who feel they have to prove themselves to the world.
(Hence why theyre taking the bus and not a car!)

Well, here in Switzerland people on buses don't normally speak to each other, they're all too busy shouting at someone on their mobile.
