how can you say "oh it was all accidental" ,
the probability that it all is accidental is 0 (if you have studied probability in the mathematics)
why do you want to base your life in 0 probability??.

this is a little funny. Do some muslims listen to the same preachers christians do? Or is it the other way round? I have heard the same arguments from christians.. the exact same.
So which 'God' is it then. If any.
The clock doesnt have as many problems as the universe. Even to scale.
I am an atheist. I still see the world as marvelous. There are so many things to discover. I like the idea of living for all eternity without the harm to me or others. But thats a dream.
Maybe there is a divine creator, or many, or maybe the universe is 'God/s'. I have no idea. i dont think any one does. I wouldn't beleive any one who claims to know without emphirical evidence.
also
I dont think mathematics is a science. Using maths to try and convince people of some truth is lame. it has its merrits, but not in EXPLAINING life.
No doubt you had muslim parents.
Also... hardly does an atheist scientist say "it was all accidental"

Then who created god? How can a god exist with no designer? How can a mountain exist? Perhaps the elements; wind, water, fire created the mountain. In fact, science seems to have proved this. Just because we don't YET have scientific answers to the question of existence, that does not mean that science will not answer the question someday. I am patient. I am not going to make up an answer. I could just as easily say that a pink unicorn created the universe. Yes, we atheists have wondered where all the wonderful things in nature come from; but we don't have a need to attribute things that we don't understand to mythical characters.

"A thorough reading and understanding of the Bible is the surest path to atheism." ~ Donald Morgan

"The Bible was written by barbarians in a barbarous, coarse and vulgar age." ~Robert Green Ingersoll

If you can accept, as you evidently do, that God doesn't need a creator why does the Universe need a creator?

Do you pretend that you can understand the universe? You can't compare the Universe to a clock anymore than you can compare God to a clock...

This is an old tired argument and is completely illogical, for the reasons others have pointed out, and I've repeated above.

Do you typically rip off 140 yr old arguments in your posts?

There are several arguments against your reasoning.

One problem with this argument is that it leads to an infinite regress. The same line of reasoning can be used to establish that God must have been created by another intelligent designer, called (let's say) Glop. And that Glop must have been designed by Gloop; and that Gloop must have been designed by Glog, and so on to infinity

Secondly, the fact that there are so many poorly "designed" (I use that word loosely) examples in our own body is in itself an argument against design. The poor design of the eye, the poor design of the fallopian tube, prostrate gland, appendix, the recurrent laryngeal nerve, "junk' DNA (DNA that has no purpose) that is left over from our ancestors, and using the same tube for eating and breathing.

Not to mention wings on birds that cannot fly, plants that photosynthesize at an inoptimal wavelength, etc.

There isn't enough space to cover it here, but the evidence points to either no designer at all, or a stupid/sadistic one.

Ah, the watchmaker...

Listen, the probability that it was all accidental is _not_ zero. I think you misunderstand the meaning of the word 'accidental'. There are scientific explanations for everything that you have mentioned.

I hate the 'who created God' argument, but in situations like this it has to be asked. If you force us to accept 'irreduciable complexity' and say that the universe is too well-designed to have 'just happened', then I need to ask why you believe that God somehow 'just happened'? If you believe that God can exist without creation, then why not believe that the universe can as well?

Or are you suggesting that your God is somehow _simpler_ than the things whose existence you attribute to His creation?

a clock doesn't just randomly congeal out of nothing. you don't see clocks growing out of the ground in forests, or falling from the sky.

the whole of existence is an entirely different thing. I like the point you made, bu it's not that simple. if we could just lift up the world, look underneath it, and see a great big "made in heaven" label on it, then there'd be a lot less question about it.

the thing is that for many the belief "god made it" is an excuse to be lazy and not strive to answer the fundamental question "why." we want to know. not believe KNOW. that is why we strive so hard for proof.

Never thought I would agree with a Muslim. But I quite agree with you and that was very good. I to believe in one God the father.
the supreme being and creator. But someone had to be first.
His first creation was Jesus Christ. col 1:15 and Rev 3:14
He was the first of his creations and by means of him all other things in heaven and earth was created. The other spirit persons in the heavens which are many. Then the earth and last the people on the earth. This is a beautiful earth he gave us isn't it. He meant for us to live on it forever. The bible says the earth abidith forever. Loved you question thank you

In short, you equate "I don't know" to "God did it."

If "God did it," we can suspend any further research and close down all schools. Maybe that's the reason Islamic nations tend to be viewed as backwards & illiterate.

If Islam promoted education & advancement instead of ignorance, fear & superstition, perhaps Islamic nations would not be viewed with such disdain.

The troubling part is that some American Christians seek to drag the US down to the same level as Pakistan or Afghanistan.

The Holy Spirit must tug at the hearts of these non beleivers. They will know it when it happens. What they do with it when it does, will determine where their soul shall spend eternity. Either in heaven or in hell. The choice is theirs.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Since you seem to be so fascinated by mathematics, perhaps one day you'll take a mathematical logic class and realize the inherent pitfalls in "Argument from Awe".

Just because you don't understand how something happened does not mean some magical man in the sky made it.
