A toy that is age-appropriate for your son will almost always have a label on the package saying the appropriate age for it's use. When in doubt, be sure it can not fit or fall through a paper towel roll (the center). This will let you know that he is unlikely to choke on it. Also be sure there are no small removable parts. Try to choose chewing toys, or plastic. I always put ours on the top rack of the dishwasher and sent them through a cycle to sanitize them. Or you can soak them in a water/bleach solution to kill germs. You should be wiping down his toys that he or any other child mouths with a solution of bleach water. Try 1 part bleach to 3 parts water. This will help, but remind all other children in your household of the importance of hand washing for two minutes after toileting, as this will help stop the spread of many gastrointestinal illnesses. Good luck, and try not to worry. He will get sick many more times, but with good hygiene, and sanitizing his toys, you may be able to reduce this.

Children that age like to put things in their mouths. At times it makes them feel better when their first teeth are coming out.
First buy a toy that has no small parts that can break off and be swallowed. The most common thing parents use is a pacifier that small infants put in their mouths. Usually in time most children out grow of this phase of their lives. When not in use, clean and place the toy in a plastic bag, that will reduce the amount of germs that your child will be exposed to. You can try and give your child a chewable vitamin with the advice of a family doctor. This and eating good food can help raise your child's immune system. With your unconditional love and support, your child will naturally stop putting things in his/her mouth. This is just a part of being an infant.

Give him squeaky toys which have been washed before use and rinsed with clean boiled water. Take out the whistle so that he does not put it in the mouth. Mothing is normal at this age and he will grow out of it after one year age.

Children this age are constantly going to have their mouths on something becasue of teething. Give him a toy specifically for teething. Also, bedure to clean everything 1 or 2 times daily to kep germs from getting on them. Steam sterilize of you can and try not to introduce anything that is dirty that he could possibly get to and mouth.

this question is kind of confusing...................but if you clean the toys every night after the baby goes to sleep........it should be a litttle better. If that child has had diar. for 2 weeks it needs to go to the hospital....its is dehydrated by now...................
