cars pull`ing out of driveways, oh and always look ahead of the road because if your view is blocked in any way then it is a hazard, i missed this because i was too busy looking out for the obvious hazards, you will be o.k it is easy and most of the hazards are pretty obvious, when you pass you will wonder why you made a fuss :o)

Hi Cynthia. The first time I had to do the hazard perception test, I was already a very experienced truck driver. The test was for my Class 1. I saw the hazard too early and only clicked once. I failed first time. The second time I pressed a couple more times for each hazard. I passed. There was no online tests when I took my test. Could have done with the practice. You will pass with flying colours.

Have some driving lessons before the test and you will notice alot of the hazards yourself. For example, if your driving down a residential road you will be reducing your speed and always scanning ahead and across to look out for children, cars moving off, cars coming into road, road signs etc.

The dsa also has a dvd called 'the official guide to hazard perception', which lasts 1 hour (which is great if you haven't got alot of time before the test) and is fab in helping you spot hazards of all kinds. I used it and passed!

Get out on the road and see for yourself. You will learn better this way and hopefully pass. If you are short for time then the dvd is your best option.

Good luck

Nature provides it's warnings by colouring various species in specific formats to indicate their danger, yellow, black, red, purple etc and various combinations of these.Man has noted this and scientifically passed this information on the consciousness of officialdom as these colours trigger warning signals to the receptive brain-subliminally suggesting danger!
You'll find that most,if not all, traffic signals will be denoted in some way or another in these specific colours,it's easy when you recognise your reaction to them, just be aware, absorb, think, then react!
You'll be fine!

Look for cars pulling up to junctions that pull out on you at the last minute, also look down the road and watch for people overtaking who will come over to your side of the road.
