TWO ACTIONS............
PUT OFF THE EXHAUST SWITCH WHICH WILL HELP THE SYSTEM IN AVOIDING INTERNAL SWEATING. INTERNAL SWEATING IS THE MOISTURE THAT GETS TRAPPED IN THE FOAM USED IN THE AIR CONDITIONER IN PLUGGING GAPS SO THAT AIR FROM OUTSIDE DOES NOT ENTER THE SYSTEM. THE SMELL THAT YOU EXPERIENCE IS FROM THIS WET FOAM.
SECONDLY, IN A TWENTY FOUR HOUR CYCLE, GIVE THE MACHINE A TWO - THREE HOUR BREAK FOR THIS WATER TO EVAPORATE & THE SPONGE TO AREATE. ALSO IF YOU HAVE A DRIP TRAY, ENSURE TO EMPTY IT THRICE A WEEK IF IT IS NOT CONNECTED TO A DRAIN PIPE...........

are you wearing shoes and socks when it's on? if so, you can deodorize with vinegar. that should do it. you can also put some dryer sheets on the filter to freshen the smell.
