The best relationships are built on friendship. so, I'd say get to know a guy first.

Well if he was a stranger and asked me out, I would consider dating him but not jumping into a relationship with a stranger. I would want to get to know him through the dates...and then as we get to know each other, have the dating progress into a relationship...

Personally, it is soooo flattering when a guy you don't even know walks up to you and says something like "I saw you and thought, this girl is beautiful, and I realized that if I was ever going to talk to you or see you again, I had to right now." something like that would be so sexy. I guarantee you, if she is worth your time, she will not turn you down.
I like to get to know the guy, but you can do that WHILE you're on the date. That way, you know each other's intentions from the very beginning and don't get trapped in the "friend zone"

get to know the guy! if a stranger asks a girl out u never know what to expect. if u know the guy atleast a little u know his personality

I think both have their place. But strangers with pick up lines aren't really relationship material.

i like to at least know of the guy! pick up line are stupid... but i don't want him to be my best frined! i want to be able to get to know the person!
