This practice of the flower girls, ring bearer, bridesmaid, bride, brides father....have been going on in American Weddings since the beginning I do believe or is it "I DO".

The focal point is the bride trailing at the end of the entourage of the flower throwing, the ring bearing, bridesmaids, maid of honor etc. The grooms men all come in with the groom. Everyones eyes are on the BRIDE and her father as she walks this trail down to the alter. (her father or guests seated can straighten her dress as she walks down)....the matron or maid of honor can do that once she's in front of the priest, rabbi, minister!

According to mountain folklore in Western North Carolina, the bride comes down the aisle last because that way, the demons trying to prevent her reaching her love, will be distracted by the bridesmaids. There are all sorts of bizarre stories like this about weddings.

Weddings are supposed to be "all about the bride" thats why she comes out last, shes the highlight, not the bridesmaids
