A heart attack is a medical emergency. Delaying treatment can mean lasting damage to your heart or even death. The sooner treatment begins, the better your chances of recovering. Your treatment may begin in the ambulance or in the emergency room and continue in a special area called a coronary care unit or CCU.
So, Call 9-1-1, take 4 chewable baby aspirin and nitro spray or tablets if you have them.

What are you to do if you have a heart attack while you are alone.
If you've already received this, it means people c are about you
The Johnson City Medical Center staff actually discovered this
and did an in-depth study on it in our ICU The two individuals that
discovered this then did an article on it . had it pu blished and have
even had it incorporated into ACLS and CPR classes.
It is very true and has and does work. It is called cough CPR. A cardiologist says it's the truth ... For your info If everyone who gets
this sends it to 10 people, you can bet that we'll save at least one life.
Read This...It could save your life! Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. and you're driving home (alone of course), after an usually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into
your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the
hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be
able to make it that far.
What can you do? You've been trained in CPR but the guy that taught the course, didn't tell you what to do if it happened to yourself.
Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack,
this article seemed to be in order. Without help, the person
whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint,
has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged,
as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about very two seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating
normally again.
Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives!

Call 911, or go straight to the ER.
How to know its a heart attack? There is a pressure. It is said to feel like a heavy weight is on your chest. Thats how you know its a heart attack.
Dont go it alone. My dad died of a heart attack. At a hospital, they might be able to give you nitroglycerine pills, for the future.
Also, you can start taking low dose aspirin, to help avoid future heart attacks. If one comes on, take a couple hundred milligrams of the aspirin, and call an ambulance. DO NOT try any home remedies for a heart attack. Its not worth the risk!
However, if you are worried about having a heart attack, and being alone, ask your neighbors to come by a couple of times a day to check on you. It might also help you, to pay for them to go get CPR certified at the local Red Cross.

Best thing to do is stop doing what every it is your doing, sit up in a chair if you can if not lay in a bed. (Make sure you won't fall over if you pass out). Call an AMBULANCE. Next, take some deep relaxing breaths. Then get 180 mg of a children's Aspirin (ASA), preferably the chewable ones. and take them. If you have a nitrate such as Nitroglycerin tablets, or Nitro Spray take a spray or a tablet.
Hopefully the Ambulance will arrive soon after.
Take care and hope this helps you.

Better not be alone. NO No I was just kidding.
Try to get some help immediately from neighbours. Still no one, I hope you have the mobile dial your doctor or ambulance. Meanwhile, try acupressure i.e. press the points between middle finger and the last but one finger.
Try to drink some cold water if nearby.
Better try to be motionless till hep arrives.

DO NOT attempt the coughing method from one of the other answers. It is considered harmful. Take two aspirin, call an ambulance and keep still and calm until it arrives.

If you have Nitroglycerine (Nitrolingual Spray or NTG tablets) prescribed to you, use it. One spary or tablet. Additionaly 324mg Aspirin (4 baby aspirin or 1 regular). Call for an ambulance. However if your doctor has not prescribed NTG then don't use it even if someone you know has it with them. Paramedics will give you both the NTG and aspirin.

You might think the poster who put up the chain mail 'cough' thing is crazy, but I checked it out and here is a link:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/09/02/health/main571210.shtml
The baby aspirin and calling 911 are very important too. Make sure 911 people can get in. Pray.

i think there's nothing much you can do..the best thing is to identify the attack correctly and reporting that to nearmost doc..the symptoms are chestpain which is severe and doesnot relieve on rest, sweating, nausea and breathlessness.. etc..what u can do is take a nitroglycerine dispersable tablet and put it below the tongue..chew an ecospirin tablet if u have it..deliberately cough out..but these may reduce the damage..ultimate solution is goin to doc

If you can reach the phone, dial 911. There are pills that might be able to help, but most people won't have those on hand.
Otherwise, you're out of luck.
